Captain D's — Restaurant in Edwardsville

I really wanted to love this place because the food is honestly amazing. Every bite was flavorful, well-seasoned. If I were rating based on food alone, this place would easily get a 5-star rating. But sadly, the overall experience was far from enjoyable. The first thing that hit me as I walked in was the strong, unpleasant smell almost like something was rotting or the place hadn’t been properly cleaned in a while. It was honestly hard to ignore, and it ruined the vibe before I even sat down. I tried to overlook it, thinking the food might make up for it—and thankfully, it kind of did—but not enough to make me want to return anytime soon.

The real deal-breaker, though, was the washroom. It was absolutely disastrous

filthy floors, no soap, a broken door lock, and a stench that made me gag. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. For a place that serves such good food, this lack of basic hygiene is unacceptable and really disappointing.

I hope the management takes these issues seriously, because no matter how good the food is, people expect cleanliness and a comfortable atmosphere when dining out. Right now, this place falls short in...

Updated review: Lula (Probably spelled her name wrong) was simply a breath of fresh air. You could see the inside was semi busy but the drive thru was even busier. We got to thr speaker and she politely asked us to hold. When we came back she answered a couple of questions that we had very thoughoughly. But the best part was her sense of humor....she had our whole car busting out laughing. She was absolutely hilarious! She repeated our order back to us for accuracy (which was 100% accurate) When we got to the window as busy as she was she able to remain humorous. She repeated everything we had letting us know where the special order items we had were. She had put condiments in the bag but also double checked to see if there was anything in addition that we needed. It's super hard to find good customer service these days....but she nailed it! I didnt take any pictures of our food because we ate it so quickly. All of our food was hot and definitely wasn't sitting around in a warmer.

I went to the store and purchased the 10-piece fish meal I asked for a 6-piece add-on the guy that rang me out was very nice I asked him to make sure he added the 7 peice he said he did I get home 20 minutes away to find only 10 pieces I call he answers tells me he's very sorry he made the mistake he said I told you I was tired when you were here again it's my mistake I'm sorry and took my name down and said the next time I'm up that way it would be taken care of so I didn't have enough fish to feed my whole family so I had to go to McDonald's and buy happy meals for the kids company eating cost me more money having to go to McDonald's I walk in today the lady that was there the same night working with him her first words were are you here for your six-piece and I said yes she says okay hold on she goes and talks to the manager on duty who says because he forgot to ring me up for the 6 piece I would have to pay for the six piece after all the added cost oh and did I mention my fish was cold by the time I got back from McDonald's so I'm not very happy with this place adult I wouldn't recommend the store they need...
