So i just got off the phone with the manager at petco edwardsville because i wanted to buy 4 baby goldfishes for our new tank.. that we bought because of THEIR workers approval of it for the fishes.. they said to go home and set up the tank first.. wait a few days.. then come back to buy the fishes.. but when i went back today, they denied me service because now they said id need an 80 gallon tank for the 4 BABY goldfishes.. so i told the lady that i did tell the worker that i do have intentions of transferring them to a bigger tank when they get bigger and after looking online it does say that up to 4 baby goldfishes could be kept in a tank as small as 10 gallons, but just not permanently.. she responded with saying that petco requires customers to have a tank setup for adulthood for their fishes, in order for customers to purchase fishes from them.. Sure theyre breaking their own rules by having a fish tank, full of about 15-20 mid sized kois and goldfishes, that looked smaller than my 75 gallon tank, but by their own policy that tank should be between 300-400 gallons.. im js So now im stuck with a tank thats all set up and ready for fishes that i cant even buy smh.. she did say i could return the tank.. but now i have to drain it and pack everything back up.. then plan ANOTHER trip to petco.. =/ Fyi: both times i went there i had to chase a worker down for assistance since i notice theyd avoid eye contact the whole time i was standing near a fish tank.. then when more customers were looking at fishes i noticed the workers migrated to the front cash registers talking instead of helping customers.. and even though the goldfishes were nibbling at all the 4 dead fishes floating at the top of the fish tank, i still was willing to buy them.. (i wonder if they followed their own rules about the 20 gallon per baby goldfish, instead of having the fishes all crowded in a 10 gallon tank.. those fishes wouldnt have died then hmm?) In the end.. Waste of my time.. waste of my money.. waste...
Read moreI normally love going to Petco and bringing my dog in with me. Well today when I went, I didn’t realize they were having a dog training day there. I just wanted my dog, Enzo, to pick out a toy and treat for his birthday. The training was by the toys, and of course Enzo got excited when he saw the other dogs and wanted to greet them. I was not apart of this training, just wanting to get a toy for my dog. I overheard the lady trainer talking about MY DOG to another pet owner about how this not how your pet should act around other pets and people. I got super upset because my dog is 3, and we adopted him, we haven’t had him since he was a puppy and we don’t know what his life was like before we adopted him. Yes he’s a bigger dog and kind of hard to control but I have been working with him and he has been doing so much better. I am just very upset that the trainer was talking about me and my dog, it was very inappropriate and I hope she’s not doing that to other people...
Read moreIn store to get treats for my dog while a trainer was working with a dog near the treats area. I went to the other side of the store to avoid the trainer after talking to her. She thanked me and I left my husband to look for treats. While on the other side of the store a manager, in name only, accused me of being a dog trainer and interfering with the training going on at the other side of the store. I assured her that I was simply working with my own dog while my husband shopped for dog treats. She, incompetent and unqualified as she was, continued to badger me verbally in order to show off for a young man she was attempting to serve. Unbeknownst to me, in response to the inordinately high prices of this pet store chain, my husband had left to buy treats at the local grocery. I too left as the badgering continued fro the unqualified store ‘manager.’ Pet of will surely be out of business soon due their high prices and...
