First and LAST time coming to this place!!! I attended last night with 8 other ppl for a birthday party. Our server was Danielle and she spilt a Margarita all over the birthday girl. She almost dumped a glass of ice on another person in our party as well. Service was HORRIBLE!! Food was over priced! It took forever for us to get our food and when we did get it, the Food was COLD!! I ordered the (2) Grouper, fries, and dirty rice. My sides came on another person's plate. When I told Danielle about my cold food and incorrect sides, she brought out more, but the fries was barely warm and the dirty rice she brought out was a MUCH smaller portion. She seemed not to be in a good head space and I was not going to send my food back again. At this point, I had had enough so I asked for a to go box and my bill which took forever to get. Regardless of service, I always leave a tip but I feel she got more than she deserved. First impressions are lasting impressions
Response to the owner Harry - First I did recognize you as the owner because you said you were. Second no one tipped over the margarita, your manager/server spilt it. Yes, you did offer to get the bill if taken to the cleaners. Who has time to drive to the cleaners and back to your restaurant for you to cover a bill, especially when you don't live close to the restaurant? The time and gas would cost more than the cleaning bill. In fact she almost spilt two other items. So let me guess, that was our fault as well? Third, my sides were NOT hot....luke warm at best! My fish was hot. It's obvious by other comments that your food is not being served as "hot/fresh" as you THINK it is. She may be a good server, just not that day. Fourth, I was not impressed with the food nor the service; therefore, I asked for my bill so I could leave. What's the point of continuing to send my food back? Lastly, when I go to any establishment and spend MY HARD EARNED MONEY, I expect great...heck EXCELLENT customer service which I and the rest of the group feel we did not receive. As previously stated, I will NOT be returning! I will let everyone know about my horrible experience and the owner's blatant disregard of his business's...
Read moreWe went here for mother’s day for my MIL. We sat at around 230, and had five people in our party. It wasn’t overly busy, as we were sat right away, and orders went in quickly.
That’s where it stopped being good, after about a half an hour I noticed we hadn’t really seen our server, and they were all lined up at the window to the kitchen talking back and forth with the cooks. Never a good sign, and almost right then our server comes by and tells us our good will be right out.
It took over an hour to get food, our order was messed up, missing three items, no refills on drinks until we flagged someone else down, and as for the food - I believe it would have been good had all the fish and crab cake sandwich not been over cooked. The frys and hush puppies were cooked way ahead of time, they tasted old. My husbands pasta he said was good but very runny, not sure how, and came with the wrong side.
It wasn’t until we had been eating a few minutes we saw some other server who asked us how everything was. Kitchen was still backed up, I’m not sending anything back - best to tell what was missing and plow through.
I get it Mother’s Day is busy, but this wasn’t a busy time we ate there. It wasn’t peek hours, and every person was avoiding their section because they knew there would be complaints.
I can forgive all of this except the thing that got me was the very end when we received our bill, I didn’t check it for accuracy as the table behind us had been trying to get there’s fixed for quite a while from 2-3 different people. It was the forced added gratuity to a party of 5. The menu says 6. If you know the entire dining room is angry, and feel the need to automatically add gratuity to a table that doesn’t meet the 6+ Person requirement for it, chances are good you know you’ve messed up.
I can only hope the owner/manager can address these issues. So far on reviews I see only defending and ‘give us another chance’ - there’s no need to if the glaring issues I’ve seen continue. I’ve worked restaurants, I’ve worked customer service, it’s not fun, but this...
Read moreAtmosphere, amazing. There is room for everyone here. Very welcoming from the time you walk through the door and are greeted. Wait staff, extremely familiar with all of the dishes and very kind. And a topper for us was being seated to their large fish tank and watching their little Yellow Zang swim laps🐠 It was too cute. 😊
My husband enjoyed the grilled sampler, I had the blackened shrimp alfredo. I want to hug whomever made my dish but I chose not to get thrown out by making my way back to the kitchen and just informed my waiter🤣
My dish was accompanied by a side salad; garden or Cesar, I of course as always I went Cesar. Too yum not to. They top their Cesar salad with fried strips of flour tortillas instead of croutons which was refreshing for a change, and it added a completely different flavor profile which was absolutely lip licking.😋
My blackened shrimp alfredo had just the right amount of southern heat that was nowhere near overbearing with their signature rub. The noodles were cooked to the perfect level of Al dente to pick up and hold the sauce. And the sauce…..Let’s talk about that sauce shall we….🤤 Creamy, silky, loaded with cheese, melt in your mouth, smack your aunt twice, absolutely devine! The flavor profile of their alfredo sauce in conjunction with their signature blacking spices on the shrimp….I had to force myself to stop eating it, and I wasn’t even able to get to my grilled garlic bread. I had enough to take home for 3 more meals. We reside 3 hours south and will be back!
Thank you to everyone at Gulf Shores of Edwardsville for an amazing anniversary meal for my husband and I, and we...
