Viva la Fiesta — Restaurant in Edwardsville

I really, really love Viva la Fiesta. Honestly, guys. They’re my favorite Mexican restaurant in Edwardsville and they really do the most to support their customers and do right by diners! This isn’t your typical “everything was absolutely beyond perfect” five star review, but I believe how a business resolves issues for their customers is just as important as having everything be perfect the first time every time (because as we all know, that’s impossible.)

I placed an order with them through DoorDash this evening and didn’t look closely at my order right when it arrived—I reported two immediately noticeable small issues through DoorDash, but I discovered others as I went through unpacking the rest of my meal. I didn’t have any other way to contact DD again, so I called the restaurant next to let them know what was going on, and a wonderfully kind gentleman server took down my name and number and had a manager call me back (within 5 minutes, no less!) The manager was also very kind and understanding, and offered to completely refund my order even though I’d already tried going through DoorDash for part of it, and resolved the issue entirely.

I couldn’t be more impressed with how thoroughly Viva La Fiesta took care of me and made sure my order issues were resolved, and I’m so happy to have them as a part of the Edwardsville restaurant family. Their food is absolutely delicious (even when it’s a little different than what I ordered!) and I’ll be back again and again. Thank you so much for being a genuinely wonderful part of Edwardsville. I ordered an entree to go for my lunch , i was extremely disappointed that the bell peppers were hard as a rock as well as the onions , the steak was tough . Since I’m an overnight worker and i took my lunch late around 12 am ,i didn’t notice the food was nasty until the restaurant was already closed . When i got off of work at 7am they still weren’t open , so i preceded to call when i woke up around 2 pm . I explained the situation to the lady on the phone , she said since i didn’t call the day of and i had already eaten some of the food i wasn’t able to get it replaced . This has NOT been my first negative encounter with this restaurant but it will most certainly be my last , i will never come to this establishment again . The lack of empathy that they don’t have for your hard earned money is disturbing. She offered me a discount instead of a replacement even though the meal wasn’t up to par . This has happened one to many times , i will never give this restaurant another chance . 0/10...

I’ve given this place more chances than deserved. Every time my order gets messed up whether I dine in or order out, at this point I expect the order to be wrong. But this was the last time. I Ordered birria tacos with no onion and a side of rice to go. I received birria tacos with wayyy too much onion and the side of rice. With me being at work i called back and explained the order wrong and need it to be corrected. They asked to bring the food back. I had my girlfriend pick up the food, drive there, replace it and drop it off. Opening the bag again I realize they gave me birria tacos with slightly less onions, consome with onion, no more limes on the side, old bag of chips(that comes with it naturally) and what looks like beard hair in the food in multiple spots on each taco, i posted a photo of an example before I found the rest. I am disgusted and done...
