Jimmy John's — Restaurant in Effingham

I was the only person in line. The only other people in the store were a couple eating. I ordered a slim, two little John’s and a turkey tom. Ordering process went smoothly, and I was told to wait at the end for my sandwiches. In every other Jimmy John I have been in, my sandwiches are ready almost before I’m finished paying—FREAKY FAST, right? Not this Jimmy John’s. There were four workers in the store. One stood at the cash register, one was making sandwiches, and I couldn’t tell what the other two were doing. The one worker making sandwiches stood there and made about 14 sandwiches and putting them in a box while I stood there and waited patiently. Finally, after 8 minutes, I asked if my sandwiches would be up soon. I thought that this was odd. It’s not like there was anyone ahead of me, and there was no one in the drive thru. He was terse and told me to just wait. He made a couple more sandwiches for the box, and then started to make my sandwiches. I asked if those were my sandwiches, and he very rudely said, “What about them?” I asked if they had tomatoes and lettuce, and he completely ignored me. When he was finished (it only took him two minutes to make the sandwich—which IS fast—what I would have expected from the jump), he basically threw the sandwiches on the counter. No thank you, have a nice day. Nada. Just a smug, irritated expression on his face. I felt I had been treated very poorly, so I asked the lady at the cash register for the name of the man making the sandwich, and she told me that she’s new, and she doesn’t know anyone’s names. I asked the other person standing next to her, and he would not answer me either. Very rude indeed. I LOVE Jimmy John’s, but I will NOT be frequenting this...

We ordered party boxes a few days ahead of time for a bridal party to eat before the wedding. The order was to be divided so it could be delivered to 2 hotel rooms in the same hotel. The delivery driver called when he arrived at the hotel. He said he would not deliver to both rooms. When I explained that the bridal party was in different rooms he said "I don't have time to mess with you. I have other deliveries to make". I was very surprised as it was over $100 order and he was left a $20 tip. I contacted the manager immediately. I was told "she would speak to the driver". Absolutely no effort was made to contact him to have both deliveries made. On top of everything else...the condiments were to be on the side but they were on the sandwiches. Needless to say most of the bridal party didn't eat lunch and over half the order was thrown away. Very disappointing. Best advice is to order somewhere else that takes customer service...

This review would have been 6 star if it wasn’t for the rude snotty attitude of the employees. My husband and I had stopped here for lunch. I ordered a #4 with cheese and my husband ordered a slim. When I received my sandwich it had cheese meat and nothing else. My husband went back to the counter to have them fix it. When we got the sandwich back it didn’t have any cheese. My husband went back to the counter and asked for the cheese. The clerks behind the counter responded “It doesn’t come with cheese.” Another clerk responded with just give it to them. I went up with receipt to show them I had ordered and paid for cheese. I got the then snotty reply of we are wrapping the cheese just wait a minute. I understand mistakes happen but the snotty attitudes and replies are not called for. Good food but definitely not worth the stop. Save yourself the headache and...
