Buttercups Coffee — Restaurant in Egg Harbor

We’ve been here the last 3 years- and had zero issues. We loved this place. We Walked in this morning and ordered what we’ve ordered the last 3 years. Normally we deal with the owners, husband and wife; however we had our coffee made by their employee who was working 10:30ish on 07/23. Latte was PURE sugar. We both couldn’t drink our beverages they were that bad. We asked for her to fix it since we did pay over $14 and tipped on top of it. She got defensive and said “we always make them this way with 4 pumps”- which I let her know it’s not our first time there and I’ve never had my beverage taste this way. She initially told us it would be an additional charge to fix it, and then finally attempted to fix it without charging us. At that point, we already said something once and felt that a second attempt to fix it would just result in an even more awkward situation than it already was. Was looking for a good cup of coffee in Egg Harbor, and found this place by accident, but what a great find! Walking in, I was overwhelmed by all the different drink selections, and decided on an iced frappe instead of the coffee, which was as good as anything you'd get from one of the big chains, if not much better. Loved it so much, I went back on two following days, the only place in Door County I can say that about!

The owner, Dave, is a really cool dude, and knows a ton about the area. Really makes you feel welcomed, and he's an outstanding barista.

He also makes his own maple syrup! Make sure you pick up a bottle or two while getting your coffee, you won't regret it.

These owners are AMAZING! LOVE LOVE LOVE. I was in DIRE need of caffeine this afternoon….walked a mile in the rain (uphill, in mud) to Buttercups… only to arrive to see a CLOSED sign on display. Sad face. Tears. My heart literally broke. In two. Right there. In the window of the door to the coffee shop my face couldn’t hide the anguish. I walked away in near tears. The amazing owner, my now hero, saw the crisis in my eyes and came to my rescue. She came blazing out of the shop looking for the sad girl in the window…found me down the hall…and made me the most delicious sugar free caramel almond milk latte I’ve ever had. Love this place.
