Ardovino's Pizza 1 — Restaurant in El Paso

First time there so hoping this wasn’t the norm for this business. Went for a friends birthday, we ordered drinks from who we thought was our server, but after waiting for two hours and asking all the other servers if we could order our food yet, our server came over, briefly introduced herself, and began taking our order. Did not clearly let us know what the splitting tab rule was and when we asked for clarification her response was short and condescending. She did not check up on our party and the other server came by to refill drinks and even offered to get us a knife for the birthday cake. I work as a server and I did not and never would take away a tip from another server, however our party felt neglected. You would think with an automatic 20% gratuity she would have introduced herself to our party within the first 45 minutes of our visit and checked up on us once or twice after we got our food. I always heard great things about this place, along with the great reviews, I was excited to try. I arrived at 20 minutes during their 15-20 minute timeframe to pick up pizza.

I gotta tell you, I was shocked that not only was the pizza completely cold (they must have done nothing to keep it warm for me, whatsoever, and when I say cold, I mean it. Cold.

But far worse than that is the pizza was actually just not good pizza. Apart from having a pretty good crust, the pizza itself tasted honestly like frozen pizza. I eat cold pizza all the time for leftovers. Good pizza is good pizza whether cold or fresh. This stuff was just junk. This is not good pizza for anyone who likes authentic thin crust. Grimaldi's by contrast, is absolutely delicious.

I can't really tell you just how disappointing that was. I will never go here again. I will say the staff was nice and the atmosphere when picking up was good, but none of that matters if the food is...

The A squad wasn’t in today. The service was sub par, pizza was too saucy, and I don’t like being forced to eat my food so they can clean up and force us to pay and leave. Disappointed!

My husband and I ordered the lunch special for the first time. We usually order a large pizza. The salad portion was pretty small, the picture I uploaded was not very far into eating it. The hostess and waitress had such an attitude that we felt rushed and annoyed while eating. I really enjoy Ardovinos pizza it’s one of my favorite spots, but I’m guessing they changed the recipe or maybe it’s just this location. I hope they provide some customer service training to the ladies working there. They seem unhappy to serve. One of my favorite things about coming back to El Paso is that it is a warm and friendly community and we didn’t get that today. Hopefully they fix it and go back...
