Tldr; I see the potential in this place. It's still their soft opening (I think they've been at it for a week at this location). I'm hopefull that all the kinks will be worked out in time for the grand opening. We'll definitely be back to check it out in a month or so. The manager came by to speak to us and he seemed really open to feedback which is also a good sign.
Beer: there wasn't any house made beer. Everything was from a large company or other local breweries.
Menu: hard to read. Very extensive which gives me pause. I personally prefer a shorter focused menu. I think it leads to more freshness and time for back of house to focus on perfecting a dish. The menu was missing the available sides. There was no beer/drink menu.
Atmosphere and service: the place is decorated well, good temperature and good volume. Our server was very pleasant, but it didn't seem like he was fully trained.
Food: the ranch tastes like vinegar - I've had better ranch from fast food places. The cochinita pibil was good, the only note is that it was a little sweet. The burger was pretty good, but the patty is obviously frozen and under seasoned. The flavor came from the other burger components. The onion rings were house made, but a little underdone. The jalapeno...
Read moreStopped in at their new location on Montwood. Weren't busy at all, but they struggled to find seating for us (just my wife and I). We really wanted to sit at the bar, as you typically get quicker service for another pour, but there was no seating at the bar (good problem to have). We planned on getting a bite while we were there, and they offered up "couch seating" while there were PLENTY of table seating available. I'm not in college. I don't want to dine and eat on a couch.
They finally seated us, browsed thru their tap list, and not a single beer of their own on tap. We are from NE Ohio, where a brewery actually brews beer and serves it on site. Our server stopped for a quick second saying she will be with us in a minute. No problem, we have been sitting for a while with no service anyhow. We continued to sit with no service. I saw no one behind the bar pouring beers, and the folks who were at the bar had empty glasses, waiting too. Didn't take long for me to realize, we won't be getting a beer anytime soon, so we left.
Really wanted this place to be solid, because it's semi close to us. May give it a try again sometime, but I will call to make sure they have their own beer on tap...
Read moreExcellent Craft Beer Brewery located in East El Paso. Blazing Tree Brewery is a must visit if you enjoy unique craft beer. The Brewery is located out of the way where you would least expect it. From the outside its just an old industrial warehouse building center off Rojas drive. When you walk in the door atmosphere is spacious, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. Hidden and secluded almost like a Speakeasy from the 1920's and 1930's. It's a perfect place to bring a group of friends or hang out and relax after work. The craft beer was amazing and the food was excellent as well. All the employees were friendly and the service was top-notch. Everyone including the patrons hanging out in the bar were helpful in suggesting beer and food options to try. The menu is fairly small but the hamburger and chicken fingers are excellent. I will definitely be back!
