So the place lives up to its name. The coffee is indeed good, and so is the food. My husband and I ordered their steak breakfast offering ($15 per plate). It's a bit more than I normally want to pay for breakfast, however, I just wanted steak. The salsas are spicy, which is a wonderful complement to the richness of the eggs, hash browns, and beans that accompany the chopped steak mixed with jalapeños, tomatoes, and onions. The food is perfectly seasoned and service is fast. If you want to enhance your dining experience both the red and green salsas are tasty, but avoid the red if you are sensitive to intense amounts of capsaicin (my lips are still a little tingly as I write this). I would have included pictures because the plating was beautiful, but I was too busy getting down to the business of eating. This place would be great for a date or birthday celebration breakfast. I would highly recommend taking your out-of-town friends and family for an authentic Mexican dining experience. Also, the wait staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the food, so don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about what's available. Also, all the food options are available all day, so if you'd rather come for lunch or dinner, it's a perfect place for that, too. Just be sure to bring an appetite, as the portions...
Read moreMy Mother took me here one time, before my flight back to Illinois. The location is good, as it's relatively close to the airport, in the central part of town. Now that I've moved back, it's not far from where I live. I wasn't sure about it at first, as it's attached to a motel with a history of bad restaurants in that spot. I didn't realize it at the time, it's part of a locally owned group of restaurants and I've eaten at another location, where the food was excellent, so this one had some promise. It turns out I wasn't disappointed.
The food was amazing, the molé sauce for the enchiladas was spicy, without being overly hot. The rice and beans both had good flavor, and they know what salt is. I don't like a lot of salt, but you need some, and I can't tell you how many restaurants have forgotten how to season when cooking. The desserts are okay, good but not mind blowingly so. Service is generally good, a couple of times I've felt slightly forgotten due to the bar being busy, but not seriously so.
I go here about once a week, I've just had to learn to avoid it on the weekends as they have karaoke in the attached bar. I dislike being tortured by people that are drunk,...
Read moreI’ve ordered from this place many times, and in the beginning, everything was great. But over time, the quality and service have gone downhill.
One day, I ordered the machaca burrito with no onions. Simple request. They included onions anyway. I spoke with the older lady who’s usually there in the mornings and asked for a remake. The second burrito also had onions. When I showed her, she literally started poking at it with her fingernails, insisting there were no onions — even though they were clearly visible. They took forever remaking it again, and I eventually got tired of waiting and walked out without a refund.
Fast forward to today — I ordered the steak ranchero plate. This time, I received steak that was partially raw. I had to drive back to get it fixed, and while they did remake it, the new plate came out with burnt jalapeño and tomato pieces and no salt or seasoning in the steak or eggs.
At this point, I give up. There’s always something wrong with my order. I really wanted to keep supporting this place, but the inconsistency and lack of care have made...
