Hidden behind the Circle K and a block down from SW University off Geronimo and Montana is the majestic Toro Bronco. Although it may not look like it from the outside, the venue is large; so if you need a place for a large gathering with weekly live Mariachis, then you've found it. The food is fresh and fantastic, good portions and decently priced. I was pleasantly surprised with they're Pistachio Agua Fresca and Polea de frijol; freshhhhhhh avocados, limes, cebollitas, and jalapenos complimented the plates and their papa asada is on point.
They open at 10am and do not offer breakfast options, so if you're an early bird and going for a machaca plate, you're out of luck. My only complaint, and as a rule of thumb, you never mop or use strong cleaning products next to customers while they're eating. I understand you're getting the shop ready, but you do that at closing. Last thing you need the strong smell of Fabuloso overwhelming your senses as you eat. Lovely and friendly service no doubt, but clean after...
Read moreI was visiting El Paso for work, and my cousin, who lives nearby, picked me up at the airport. I had flown directly from Los Angeles and was hungry, dare I say hangry! She knows I love tacos, and a trip to Texas will include several taco meals. She suggested Tacos Toro Bronco and the name alone made it sound delicious. It helped that it was near the hotel. I was going to get my traditional Mexican Coke, but they have aguas frescas, so I ordered a Pepino-Limon. Not only was it delicious, but it was great for hydrating after a flight. The Taco Plato came with four tacos. I got Barbacoa, and my cousin got the same order but two de Pollo and two de Res, and we traded. It came with a cup of Frijoles Charros and una Papa with a side of aguacate. The chips and salsa were delicious, with a good variety of heat. The whole meal reminded me of los puestos de Monterrey. I will go back next time I...
Read moreWe went yesterday in the evening at 6pm to celebrate my daughter's birthday, it was the worst experience ever. Our waitress was very unfriendly she looked like she was in a bad mood and not once even bothered to ask if we needed anything. We saw one of the cooks poking his nose and didn't bother to wash his hands.. The food was tasteless and our parillada meat was so burnt it was hard. I ended up sweeping our area because the waitress went and put the broom and dust pan right my our table like hinting us to sweep our area so I happily swepped up my Grandbabies mess. It was overall the worst service and food 🤢🤮 oh yeah the avocado was black when brought...
