I made a reservation for Valentine's Day via opentable app. The restaurant called and left a voicemail to confirm the reservation to which, I returned the call and confirmed my reservation. Fast forward two weeks to Valentine's Day. My girlfriend and I show up for our 8:15 reservation to be told, "Due to the number of reservations for tonight, we aren't serving food up here." I responded with "well that's the whole reason we made the reservation was to eat dinner." All I got in return was "Oh I'm sorry." That was it nothing more than that. No let's fix this for you or anything. So, we went downstairs to Ambar which, is apparently tied to la perla. We asked the hostess if there was any way we could eat there. We were told they were booked up. I posed the issue that La Perla wasn't cooking food, so we had to come downstairs. Again, second time something could have been fixed but we simply got a "Oh yeah they brought the cook downstairs due to the number of reservations. but you can sit at the bar." So twice we were told we aren't going to help you for our mistake. So, for Valentine's dinner we sat crowded at the end of the bar in the space for 1 person attempting to enjoy the night. This is ridiculous that there was zero attempt to correct the restaurants failure to plan accordingly or to beforehand inform me of that limitation so I could make alternate dinner...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve never felt less welcome in a restaurant ever before! Terrible! Unfriendly hostess, and $125 minimum ticket, which is strange considering there were ONLY 2 tables tonight, and looking at the menu, Iām not sure how 2 adults would be able to spend that much, so instead they served the other 8 people in the entire restaurant at 7 pm tonight and I went down the street and spent $90 on dinner and cocktails elsewhere. Booked on open table, no notice of a minimum bill amount and no menu online, I could kinda understand a minimum if it were communicated, OR if they were busy and in high demand, but youād have to order nearly everything on the menu to get to the minimum, and even then, awkward and untrained staff are there to meet you. Iād be embarrassed to be managing this restaurant. My second time in El Paso in a week, I almost booked this hotel, thank God I didnāt, and I certainly wonāt the next 5 times Iām back, or ever for that matter. PS.. Iād ditch the minimum on evenings you have less than 10 people in the restaurant, my $90 would have been better than $0 and a negative review. Place is a total joke, notice the other reviews mention views not food? Go up and grab a drink, see the rooftop view, and then dine at any other restaurant in the area, youāll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGorgeous views, mediocre drinks but didn't really expect anything that great as it is a hotel roof top bar but lord I was shorted in the most shady manner - I was only handed a limited menu and ordered a very mediocre off menu glass of Cabernet and was told that there were only three reds, one which the server hyped and ended up with a $30 charge, absolutely the most expensive glass of wine I've ever drank in any establishment and when I questioned the price, I was told to double check the downstairs menu which actually was $10 cheaper than what I was charged. Waiter was shady for not disclosing the fact that there were multiple sized pours and the fact that the one he poured me was a $30 glass. Shady. The hosts were wonderful. But train your employees. I don't think the kid was even trying to be shady, simply wasn't trained well enough. It's not that hard to take informed orders... Don't be shady. It's really a terrible terrible vibe. A sour on what was otherwise a...
