Updated review (December 2020) I have now been to Rita’s three times. Every time I order the RCB and at least one other item (sampling the menu.) So now I know Rita’s has two issues, and I’m downgrading from 4 stars to 3 but will revise if it improves on my next two visits.
Most of the time, my food is only warm/not hot (even though I eat it in their parking lot.) I usually go after their lunch rush and before close (1-3pm) so perhaps this is a factor?
They aren’t tasting the food. Or at least not someone other than the chef. Sometimes the salt level is off the hook. I had to throw away my last RCB because it tasted like nothing but salt. Taste for salt varies but I feel confident this was inedible for most. I now see the salty note in other reviews and I think they have an issue to figure out.
I liked the carne asada burrito (added cheese and tomatoes.) I didn’t love the chile verde. Good not great. I am going to give them two more chances, and I’m eyeing the picadillo and chile relleno burritos.
Original review (October 2020) below: Caveat: one-visit, to-go (but consumed in the parking lot immediately.)
Currently (10/27) they are drive-thru only/no dine-in.
The RCB alone is worth a visit. Red Chile Brisket. Plenty of sauce, but not a wet burrito. This baby packs the really beautiful kind of heat...deep and smoky and a fairly high heat level...without overpowering the brisket. Then it lingers on your tongue awhile...a loving, simmering slow, tasty burn.
To firmly remind your brain, "come back for this again!"
Unfortunately, my refritos con queso were about halfway between fridge temp and room temp with some completely unmelted shredded cheese on top. I still ate them (I was hungry) but they weren't what they should have been if warmed up. (I'm betting they were preportioned a good while before I ordered them.) But if that was an isolated occurrence, I'll up my review to 5 stars next time.
Next time I've got my eye on some other burritos, too! Looks like the green chile and picadillo have...
Read moreThe food is alright I guess tortillas for sure let you buy a dozen or something like that I've gone there several times because of how convenient it is to grab a burrito and take to work but I'll tell you sometimes I see the cashier making tortillas without washing her hands and handling money which is kind of gross and unhygienic I tried voicing my concerns to the owner but he never answers the phone this is better I think this is a good way customers to read my true experience. That seems like a plan where would you like to meet and so we have it I do have videos of her I'll show you them in person instead of having a keyboard War I have no fear of showing my face to you, you know who I am we have interacted before face to face you personally give me your business card sir I wouldn't be wasting my time here telling you what I saw besides I've been a customer since you opened, I see you coming out a bit rude and upset I can describe the woman who's been doing this she's also pretty rude and I know you know who I'm talking about black hair tall skinny I don't need to be battling you on the internet let's meet face-to-face and I'll show you the videos I don't need your money all I want is your business to be efficient like it was before somehow I feel like the quality has declined and I'm not the only one who's noticing it and you decide to be rude to anybody who writes negative reviews I personally think that you might need more growing as a business owner and learn how to take a negative critique even if it hurts I'm just trying to help you and find out and maybe clean the trash out of your environment because if they're going to bring down your business well sir I don't think you're that intelligent might as well lose your loyal customers right one last thing remember customer is...
Read more3.5 stars. Ordered delivery online (they use FAVOR) well we lost a burrito not sure if I never made it or if driver decided to help themselves to a barbacoa burrito 😉😔. First time trying this place. Ordered egg w winnie for the kiddo (approved), pretty loaded. Tried their highly rated carne asada, not sure what the hype came across flavorless over broiled meat, tortilla was nice and soft though and had good chew/taste. Husband rated chicharron as not to spicy and overall "good". Tried the RCB, first of all that's not brisket it more like desebrada boiled meat in a really spicy colorado sauce, I personally felt is was missing something like salt IDK. Really sad we lost the burrito wanted to try their barbacoa. Salsa are okay spicy enough. See how this would be a hit in Chandler AZ where authentic mexican flavors are scarce. But here in EP I have higher expectations of my breakfast burritos. Giving it a second try next weekend so stay posted.
*10.2023 - from 3 stars to 2 -update never made it back nor gave them a second try. After reading my response back from this place and others responses as well as reviews, all I can think is how rude. Google reviews allows customers to put their honest opinions to aid others to make their own judgment and choice about visiting a place. I did not appreciate the side of sassy "best of luck". I don't need an apology but acknowledgement my review was read and maybe encouragement to know the establishment...
