So the only reason I even gave a 2 star rating is because of the waitress Emily(I give her 5 stars personally). It started out as a disaster immediately. My aunt made a reservation for 20 people at 2pm on Sunday to celebrate a my best friend'slittle sister. All 20 where there prior to 2pm for reservation. We waited approximately 15 minutes before they even took us to the back area where we were to be seated and when we get back there it was only enough room to seat 8 to 10 of our party. The hostess was stunned as others were seated at the tables that were set for our party but she turned around and walked away without saying anything to us. We all stood in the hallway for a few not knowing what to do until we decided to move out of others way as we were blocking the restroom hallway. We stood back at the front waiting to be told something in which we still had to go seek out the answer because the hostess didn't come back to say anything. We were waiting as we saw one of the larger parties in the area leave thinking that they were going to clean the area for us but no.....they decided to put us in the front area split area split apart from each other at separate tables. No apology no accommodation for the inconvenience of anything. Here we were trying celebrate a going away and the person being celebrated was unable to mingle with her guest due to us being split up. We were nearby but how we were seated we could not see each other. 8 people at one circular booth, 6 at another circular booth, and then 4 at a stand alone table. We were seated and the hostess came and just sat the menus and some utensils on the table but I do mean just sat them. She sat them down in a stack and walked off without saying anything. We should have left then but where could you really go last minute to accommodate that large of a party. Emily was our waitress and she saw our dismay and frustration. She came to the table friendly and constantly with a smile. She took care of us to the best of her ability and she did everything she could to better our experience. She gets an A+ but the restaurant hmph i may not even return. Oh get this, THEY DONT SERVE ALCOHOL ON SUNDAYS. Not that was that big of an issue but dang knowing that prior to the reservation would've been nice. I hope this does not come off wrong but I dont always expect great service from Asian restaurants but I sure didn't expect to be completely...
Read moreThe red bowl in Sandhills just called the police on me because I ordered their buy one get one free sushi and a drink. I let my 7 year old eat some of my sushi. After our meal was over and I asked for the check they tried to charge me for a drink for my daughter in the amount of $2. I explained to them that I ordered a drink as their policy stated and my child already had a bottle of water from home(she was not thirsty). They said I would have to pay for the second drink or they were going to call the police on me. At which point my daughter became overwhelmed with fear and started crying and asking who would be able to take her to her daddy(she thought I was going to jail). I explained to them that I already ordered a drink from the bar that actually totaled more than two drinks but they insisted that I buy another drink or the police would be called. I refuse to let my child be scared of the police being called so I calmed her down and told her not to worry that everything will be fine. In the meantime the owner’s wife began screaming at me and acting like her husband was holding her back from charging at me. My child got even more scared. I showed them their website and the policy written but they still insisted. Then they said the policy was written on the door, when I asked for them to show me bc I didn’t see it they couldn’t(bc it wasn’t there). So I told them I would not pay for the drink. They called the POLICE y’all. We waited for Richland County Sheriff's Department to arrive. Deputies came and tried to calm my visibly shaken child so that she wouldn’t fear them. I appreciate them for doing that. All over paying for a $2 drink we didn’t order or consume. I still refused to pay the $2 so one of the officers paid it against my request. But bottom line don’t eat at Redbowl Asian bistro in Sandhills🤷🏾♀️ they will try to make you pay for things that you didn’t order, lie about their policies, and traumatize your children for $2.
reply to owner I ordered one special. A single buy of one plate and I received one plate free. I purchased one drink. Dishonesty makes this establishment even worse. I can read and follow policies, you sir cannot. When the police arrived I was not arrested because I did...
Read moreI was at this restaurant on 2/18/17. The restaurant was understandably busy for a Saturday Evening following Valentine's Day. The bartender was very frustrated as he was continuously sat by the host while attempting to fulfill all the orders of other patrons. When we were sat we were not greeted promptly but we did not complain taking note of how busy the restaurant was. Our food was delivered to the wrong table and left by another waitress. Our server comes out 2 minutes later and then takes our meals from another guests table and apologizes for the delay, after the guest had already put Their silerware in it and said their blessing. I politely communicated to the server it is unsanitary to serve me food that has been placed on another and I would like food that has not been served to another guest. She then asked me "are you sure you want me to take it back, because They said they have not touched it". I then communicated to her again. "It is unsanitary and a violation of the health code to serve food that has been served to another guest and left unattended. Please remake our food, we do not mind waiting". 10 minutes pass and the food for the other guests is delivered and the server goes back and get out entrees. THEY WERE THE SAME ENTREES SENT BACK TO THE KITCHEN. I told the server this and she then states " oh no, I would never do that. I know how you feel. I would not give you food that had been given to another guest" I was infuriated because before she took the plates back she asked me was I sure I wanted them to go back because the other guests didn't eat it. The server then took my food back, she did not present me with another menu, or even ask if I wanted something different. I had to ask for a manager. The manager then lied and told me the food was remade and he fixed the problem when he was alerted. I was so upset. I work in food service. I know what a hot plate feels like that has been under the heat lamps and I'm the microwave. Our platers were hot, and the sauce from our noodles was stuck to the plate from sitting. As a culinary assistant I know that fresh sauce will wipe up with out a hassle. I felt insulted. And I'll most likely never return to...
