Recently purchased via the order option on Google maps (door dash) for pickup at their restaurant. Arrived and parked near their door on the street, called and asked if the order was ready and they said yes, it's at the front desk. Usually, I have to walk to the back of their restaurant to pickup my order, so I said, wow, thank you since they left my order at the front desk near the street entrance of their restaurant. The food was amazing as always but this last time, I ordered clam chowder but it seems like they gave me a vegetable rice soup; it tasted good and I ste it all but earned the clam chowder soup. Also, ordered the blackened chicken and pasta, selected penne noodles. Alfredo smd side salad with ranch dressing. The blackened chicken and the salad were both amazing! Their food is probably rhe best tasting food in Elizabeth City NC!
1 year prior, Called a little after 5pm on Saturday, placed order, arrived, spoke to bartender, nice conversation, paid via Google pay, few minutes later, she walked out with the bags, she said food is ready and she said she told my wife it would be ready in 15 minutes. Took the food home and everyone loved the food. Daughter wanted more chicken Parmesan and calamari. I enjoyed the calamari and the pan fried catfish. Wife and youngest daughter enjoyed everything they ate. The mixed veggies were not the best though.
1 year prior, Called to place order, when I arrived, I saw 2 bags of food and a ticket or bill. Assumed it was mine and it was. Paid via Google Pay and went home with the food I ordered. The blackened chicken pasta was superb, the chicken parmesan hot the spot for my wife and 2 daughters, the calamari was good and the salad was good as well.
9 months prior, I wrote, The lady bartender in the back of the restaurant was much nicer than the lady hostess at and near the front door of the restaurant. My dad chose to go here for his 52nd wedding anniversary and he was very pleased and told me that I need to come here and try the rock fish and the Brownie Sunday. My mother enjoyed the blackened tuna. So I did as my father suggested and tried the rock fish and Brownie Sunday along with some other things on the menu. My dad said that he had 1 bone in his rock fish, I did not, thank God! The rock fish and Brownie Sunday a la mode were delicious. The baked potato, salad and Calamari were delicious as well. The sauce or dip provided for the Calamari was unique tangy and good. The Calamari and rock fish was not the best I ever had, same for the salad. I enjoyed the Brownie Sunday more than anything else. Children had the chicken quesadilla, wife had fried oysters but could not eat them. We both cannot eat oysters that are raw or almost seem raw or uncooked. Lady bartender in the back was nice to talk to. The hostess at the front told me to pickup my food at the bar. Lady bartender told me that I could pay via Google Pay and I...
Read moreUpdate June 17th, 2024: Cypress Creek Grill on Water Street, right across from Mariner's Wharf Park in Elizabeth City, NC, is an absolute gem. My first mate and I recently dined there and had an exceptional experience. We enjoyed Blackened Yellowfin Tuna with a Baked Potato and Sea Scallops over Fettucini Alfredo. Both dishes were exquisite—the tuna was perfectly blackened, and the scallops were succulent, complementing the creamy Alfredo beautifully.
Our waitress, who usually bartends on Friday nights, was an absolute delight. She provided excellent service and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the hostess was quite unpleasant, but we later learned she wouldn't be there much longer.
From the delectable food to the inviting atmosphere, Cypress Creek Grill has become a regular stop for me and anyone helping me move our boat North or South. We frequently dock at Mariner's Wharf across the street, making this great little restaurant a convenient and delightful dining option every time we're in town. Highly recommended!
Don't foget like I do that Cypress Creek Grill is CLOSED on Sunday!
We visited on a whim as we were traveling back from VA to NC. There were 6 of us and we called about 30-45 minutes ahead and made a reservation. The place was very busy and we were seated immediately. The service was excellent, the drinks were great and the food was to die for. We had SOB's and scallops for appetizers! Very good! We all had something different and everything came out to the table at the same time. A wonderful place for a great...
Read moreWe arrived and they were somewhat busy so we had a 20 minute wait to be seated. Our waitress was prompt in bringing us menus and taking our drink order. She brought us our drinks bit it took over 15 minutes for her to return to take our order. Twenty minutes later our appetizers finally arrived and were tasty. Twenty minutes after we were done eating our appetizers our food finally arrived. I understand they were busy but the time spent waiting seemed rather excessive and the restaurant was extremely loud. The menu had Brussels Sprouts as the vegetable of the day which we ordered, but you only got two sprouts which was really only a half serving. They also had a Filet Steak listed on the menu as market price but when I ordered it I was told they didn't have it because they would have to charge too much for it. I was willing to pay market price but I guess they knew better. Overall the food was good but not great and the service was adequate, but the extreme volume of people talking way too loud made it impossible to enjoy a casual conversation while eating, We have been here before when they were not so crowded and had better food, service and a quieter ambiance in which to enjoy our meal. Perhaps rethinking their decor or at least installing acoustic panels could reduce the volume when...
