Sooooo.......I hope there's a Google team that reviews this thread of reviews. This incredible business with incredible products earned all 5 star reviews until yesterday when an employee was terminated for reasons unrelated to the products or services. Suddenly, all the friends of that employee are leaving 1 star reviews and writing horrific commentary!!! Pretty obvious that the latest reviews are skewed. Such shameful behavior on the part of the pack of nasty reviewers!!!! ...who, by the way, are doing this damage based on things they have no personal knowledge of!!!! I'm certain that NONE of them have ever been within a block of the business they're reviewing!!!! Though I'm from New England, I was recently in Elizabeth City for a week and stayed at a nearby bed & breakfast. I stumbled upon this delightful, locally-owned business while taking a morning walk the first day. I returned every day and was treated like family almost immediately. I also enjoyed the burrito place next door! I hope the nasty reviews are removed or that folks consider the sources of these...

FYI recent negative reviews are based solely on alleged personal events regarding staff that have no bearing on the business. I’m still giving this a FIVE STAR review because the product is delicious, I’ve yet to have a single item I didn’t absolutely love. The customer service is the best and the owners are always pleasant and kind. The personal lives of individuals involved has nothing to do with the professional side of the business, service, and product.

Again, I reiterate. The influx of negative reviews all in the same time period are complete and utter nonsense. Go in and decide for yourself. Don’t like it? Then don’t spend your money there. I promise, however, you WILL NOT be disappointed. And roaches?! 😂😂 Thats so far fetched knowing the owners as I do that I literally laughed out loud. I’m in there about twice a week. Probably one of the cleanest places...

My husband and I have been making this our regular spot. The coffee is soooooooo good, delicious every single time. I like that it has more of a coffee flavor, rather than being super overly sweet. If you like good espresso this is the place to go. The owners and staff are all very “sweet” and for real some of the nicest people we have met in Elizabeth City. I like the little bit more upscale city vibe they have. They also have books for sale on display and it makes it feel very cozy. I’ve tried almost everything here (Croissants, macarons, tart, brownies, muffins) but I haven’t tried all the flavors! I love that they keep it fresh by switching out what will be in the case each time. To get a coffee and sweet treat from here is such a delight! We have enjoyed every visit so far and look forward to many more...

This is such an amazing bakery and coffee shop! The fresh baked treats are the finest thing this side of New York. They offer so much variety. I'm gluten free and finding quality tasting treats has been a struggle. I had purchased treats at a 5 star bakery in NY and they could not even come close to what they offer at The SweetEasy. I highly recommend the GF strawberry or lemon shortcakes, GF 1/2lb chocolate chip cookies, GF coconut cupcakes, GF brownies & GF pumpkin bread. The Pale Horse coffee is a perfect pairing. The entire staff is amazing, Kirra is by far my favorite Barista. The owners are so personable and hands-on. I will definitely be back frequently. Keep doing amazing things! ❤️

You enter at the street and walk all the way down and the entrance is on your right. The walk in is beautiful. You have to visit this local bakery! The baked goods on offer are scrumptious looking! They have the most layers in their pastries I have ever seen. I tried one of their pastries filled with cream and strawberries and goodness it was delicious. I also liked their pistachio white chocolate pastry but the strawberry and cream one was my favorite! The staff was very friendly and accommodating with answering questions. I even had a surprise when I opened the pastry box because they had written Happy Birthday. That was lovely

Super disappointing drinks. The coffee drinks (of which I've had at least 6 different flavors) taste weakly of coffee and monin syrup, nothing more special than a Starbucks drink. The taro tastes like a mixture of vanilla milk and bubblegum, literally the worst I've ever had, and you can clearly see the mix of red and blue pigments trying to make it purple like actual taro. The redeeming quality is the baked goods. The cookies are giant and tasty.
