This place is a gem, and so was the barista inside! I was already excited to try this place, and had some high expectations. But man, they blew my expectations outta the water cannon ball style! The style/atmosphere inside was adorable. They are dog friendly, and let our pups go ham on some pup cups. The barista was extremely sweet and knowledgeable. She took her time with us, didn't make us feel rushed with deciding on a coffee. She was also super ontop of it! I am not sure if she was holding down the fort on her own or not, but she was pumping out good drinks fast. I didn't think the prices were outlandish, and all the drinks were clever as well as delicious! I got the Calico Jack and my friend got their Shrieking Pumpkin. Overall this place is a great stop, I would highly recommend :)

If I could give it a better rating I would. I never had a great small town coffee shop experience like this living up in Virginia. I can safely say this is my go to coffee spot when I'm out and need coffee! I'm not too big on sweet coffee so learning that they will cut my favorite drinks in half makes it even better for me! On top of that I'm sure I've bought every sticker they come out with at this point. The employees are amazing and attentive and overall it's not just a cool place to hangout at, it's a nice place with nice people and good cofee

This is the best themed coffee house I have been to. The Kraken coffee house epitomizes a nautical vibe. It is such a fun atmosphere! The staff were friendly and helpful. They have a lot of drink options. There are a few baked goods available. There is seating available inside and Outside. Inside there are also some games available. They do have merchandise available for sale that you can see as you wait to orderThere are also crayons for the kiddos. I had an Americano. It was ok.

We just moved here and started going to the Kraken since it is in walking distance to us. The drink items are pretty good and same with the pastry’s! Although today was a little strange, we walked in and were greeted by a young man but not by the girl behind the counter. She didn’t seem very happy, didn’t smile, didn’t say much, we ordered and then I noticed she was on FaceTime with someone and had AirPods in. Normally I wouldn’t care because I get it, slow day, but I felt like we were interrupting her being on FaceTime just by how unfriendly she was. Then we overheard her in the back, very loudly, saying how she was annoyed by whoever was on FaceTime and needed to hang up so she could work, but she didn’t hang up. She then walked away from the drinks she was starting to make and handed her phone to someone sitting down and said talk to the phone, but continued yelling through the side door at the guy on the phone. She called out our orders and I said thank you and smiled, but nothing. Very cold shoulder. I don’t know but normally getting served by someone with not a single smile but laughing on the phone is kind of unsettling because I felt like I bothered her by coming in. Great place, just would fix that type of attitude in the future, not very welcoming...

Really did like this place my wife was waiting for me to get done on a long run and was gonna meet me here . I got done running and came in to try to change into some dry clothes cause it was so hot out. The two young gentlemen that were working said they needed to clean the bathroom so I left to go use the park bathroom and was gonna comeback and enjoy a nice cold beverage, as soon as I left my wife overheard the two employees saying that “ that man is not using are bathroom.” My wife then said “excuse that is my husband you are talking about he was gonna be a paying customer and he just got done running “ my wife did really like this place until now. Pretty sad that these young employees are really that judgemental just because I was sweaty but they tried to cover it up and say they were talking about someone else that came in before me and used drugs in the bathroom. Very disappointed in the customer service, maybe should be a little nicer to people and don’t...

I ordered a large cold brew today after hearing about this place I figured I’d try it out. I was not expecting a large cold brew to be almost $7, and to be about the size of a grande (16oz) at Starbucks. The same style cold brew drink at Starbucks runs $5.30 for a trenta (30oz). And as far as taste, I could only drink 1/4 of it before I just had to give up. The cold brew that I ordered tasted burnt and bitter, which cold brew should be very smooth, like you wouldn’t even need a sweetener and could just drink it black. It’s a very cute place and has a lot of character, the baristas were friendly, but $7 for like 16oz of cold brew, it was not worth it. I probably won’t return to try anything else as cold brew is my daily drink of choice, whether I go to a Starbucks or make it at home myself. I’m sure that there are other drinks on the menu that are great, but I’ve never tasted a cold brew that was that...
