I’m giving a 2 stars only because the owner has a welcoming store that is inviting by its clean but out dated building....

The owner was kind upon my initial phone conversation about her services and I went there with my design in color print.

I was disillusioned after talking with her as she didn’t want to honor my request to sign a confidentiality agreement stating that since I did have trust issues then “No, I won’t do business with you,” were her words. She “bounced” off her seat and bidded me goodbye.

Now rewind during our conversation initially she was kind to show me her designs on the computer and I was impressed (very).

She wanted me to strongly believe that she wouldn’t share my information nor designs to anyone....I had given her my paper of my ring and the paper was folded in half because it had another jewelry design that I didn’t discuss nor was interested in it being made just yet... however she copied both designs on her copier.

I asked her why and she stated that so she could know how to work my design... but I said re-emphasised that the other piece of jewelry isn’t connected to my being there but she insisted that I trust her or she wouldn’t do business... I was not only disheartening but disappointed that she’d even try to take my other design and keep it on file when I wasn’t there for that... so my gut began to churn and I saw a red flag.

So fast forward I said “Ok.” I walked on my way towards and out the door with disbelief but feeling that hope isn’t lost and I will with prayer, patience and persistence find a trusted professional who will honor signing a confidentiality....... now not to mention I was kind enough to kill that big annoying wasp that was flying around... a small gesture but still a kind gesture with gratitude in my heart because I didn’t want to be stung either by that critter.... Like I mentioned earlier it’s a neat jewelry store but older building with some issues that need addressing (leaking ceiling and walls during storms that she pointed out to me during my 1st impression visit).

And in hindsight I’m believing that the Lord closes some doors for our good or rejection is His protection...so I remain humble and thankful and press on.

09/23/19 Monday Addendum: As a response to the owner’s reply, there must have been a break down in communication or what was obviously misinterpreted by you because I wasn’t there to have my ring(design) for a “mass” production.

It was for personal reason( gift to relatives) and my naiveness in mentioning that I may one day have it manufacturered(since it’s “patent pending” because I didn’t want someone to “knock off” my idea even though I know it’s still a possibility as you pointed out)....

I’m a little puzzled that nothing in your response was mentioned about why you copied both of my designs? But never mind if I or my attorney see anything that’s even remotely close to it then we know.

I was discouraged by you from seeking licensing... not had that happen before in seeking a jeweler to assist me with making it into a gift I could give to a relative who’s in a relationship... it’s more like a “promise “ ring but still versatile in how it is used in several occasions, etc.

I was assured by you that you could indeed make my ring and I was already in awe of the jewelry you had on your computer... so your response is not to my satisfaction but I’ve learned somethings.

By the way other “small” jewelry businesses had no problem signing a confidentiality agreement... it so happened that I have certain qualities I look for in a business before I actually do business with. I thought yours was a good fit but definitely not I learned.

FYI:The courts may not provide a black-and-white answer as to how they will determine willful infringement, but they do offer a general framework. As a plaintiff, proving willful infringement may seem difficult and sometimes arbitrary, but it certainly is...

Since both of my parents have passed away and could not be with me on my special day, I had the idea to have their wedding bands fused together to create my own. I was so excited to make this idea a reality. I went to Eclectic Jewelry in Elizabeth City because she was the only jeweler in town that could work on my ring without sending it out of the store. At first she seemed up to the challenge, however, the experienced that followed showed otherwise. I’ve been haunted for months with how things were done and I feel like this could help someone in the future. I went in to speak with her, she sized my finger, and told me it should be ready in two weeks. It took a little longer but I was ok with it. When she finally reached out to me, I went it and the ring didn’t fit. I was so let down and upset. She stated the ring didn’t fit because my father’s band was thicker than my mothers and she would be willing to fix it at an additional price. I was absolutely baffled at her response. Being an “experienced” jeweler, this should have been taken into consideration when the ring was being fused and sized. This was just the half of it. Understandably so, I was very upset about this. I asked her where the remaining Gold from my fathers band was and she stated “it wasn’t that much, worth only a few dollars and didn’t save it”. Again I was left BAFFLED! I don’t care if it was 5 dollars worth, it was the only thing I had left of my parents. The gold could have been put in a capsule to wear around my neck. She showed no compassion or remorse for the situation, completely heartless. She ended up not charging me for the fix but I still can’t wear the ring. It’s $400 later and I have a ring I can’t wear, even after “resizing” it. I sent my husband to pick the ring up the second time because of the anger in my heart. This is possibly one of the worse experiences of my life. For months I’ve thought about this and have finally decided to speak out about it. I highly suggest no one use her for...

Eclectic designs is a great local buisness that’s hard not to want to support. I’ve been getting ready for my wedding and needed repairs done to my fiancé’s ring. We originally went to Jared and claimed it could not be repaired. Took it in to the girls at eclectic and we’re able to tell me if it was repairable in 5 minutes. Which it was, and they worked quickly to fix it. This is a buisness that will know you by name, and understand what jewelry you are looking for and whatever repairs you’ll need on currently owned jewelry for a very reasonable price. I will recommend this buisness to all my local...
