North Avenue Bakery — Restaurant in Elizabeth

Was recommended by a friend to come here for the famous "Portuguese Natas!" Which is known to have one of the best Natas that you will have in New Jersey, period! I've had Portuguese Natas from practically everywhere in New Jersey, but had a feeling that this location was disclosed and hidden that made me think that they do make the best natas, which is an old mom & pop shop in the area. I bought a dozen Natas for a Christmas party and everyone told me, "where did i buy these Natas from?, OMG! there super thick and heavy." So I highly recommend this location, if you want an authentic Portuguese Nata, that's crowd pleaser...Also the workers were very respectful and courteous to your needs. Definitely will be coming...

I got a small I call it cream tart with fruit and it was delicious and fresh. I got 4 other dessert items that were good. I also got a cheese puff and some pastry with chicken rolled up in it. Everything was good but be warned this was more of a mexican/ south American bakery so the offering are a little different the some other bakeries in the area. It's still very good but different. They had a great selection with probly 20 desserts. They also had 8-10 hot items. I didn't try the breakfast sandwhich but it looked great. Staff was friendly and it was well priced. Affordable prices and good coffee ☕️ I think they have to improve the appearance of the place if they want to reach more customers, it's the kind of place you grab your coffee and leave. There's another bakery close by that has a better appearance, and I felt tempted to go there instead of here just by the visuals. In my opinion, if they want to win over their competitors they should do some remodelations or just change the decorations to make it look more modern or nicer. Other than that...
