We've always loved Captain D's...but recently, we've been less than impressed. They went through a remodel a year or so ago, which was really needed just to clean it up. It's a place for a cheap meal, but the quality of the food seems to be going downhill. They've tried to upgrade with the presentation, like new sectioned plates with real silverware, but it just makes it feel like a school lunch. This last visit, we noticed they changed the slaw recipe and we decided we're not a fan...but I guess that's just personal preference. The biggest disappointment though is the cleanliness. We've witnessed the staff cleaning out the booths with a broom, the same broom that swiped over grease and spilled sauces on the floor, instead of getting a rag to wipe them off... just laziness. I would've been livid if I had sat in that booth and got ketchup all over my pants. We've been one of two or three tables in the entire place and the person spot sweeping felt like she had to sweep right next to us and even touching our feet while trying to get under our table...not cool!! I was so irritated by it, we just threw the rest of our food away and left, so I wouldn't be able to confront her. I completely understand about the duties that have to be done before the end of a shift...but this was just ignorance. Other times, the complete opposite happens, and we don't anyone the whole time and tables are left dirty, the floors are nasty, spills aren't cleaned up in the drink and sauce area. We're always there for at least 30 mins the staff just walk right by it. We still visit the Elizabethton location, but not as often as we used to. We may have to stop going if it doesn't improve and we'll definitely miss it...but we can't enjoy ourselves if we're grossed out. The fish IS good and that's the only reason we continue to visit. I hope one day I can give a...
Read moreDrive up to drive thru. I could tell the lady couldn't hear what I was saying. So I drove away after repeating my order twice and went into the building to place my order. I realize sometimes it's hard to hear. I was standing in line and I over heard the lady telling another lady in the back how I drove around the building and flipped her off and then had the nerve to come inside. Then a gentlemen in the back started staring at me with a look I wish everyone could have seen. I wouldn't have ate there at that point for no amount of money if you know what I mean. I told them in the first place nobody is going to lie on me and say I flipped someone off I just wouldn't and couldn't do that. All I was trying to do was order my food so they would get it right. I also said I wouldn't eat at that location again if they gave me the food. I will never set foot back on their property. If I want to eat that type of food I will eat at the Jonesbourgh TN . Location I have never had a problem at that location and this is the third or fourth time something has happen here. Crying shame I can't enjoy my...
Read moreWouldn't even give them one star but I had to in order to vote. Went by there a few months ago to order crab cakes and was very rudely told they don't serve them anymore. I hadnt been back since then. (I used to go at least 3 times a month for the crab cakes.)
My mom called and told me she had went by there today (August 1st 2019) and they had crab cakes and I also noticed them on my coupons I got in the mail..
I call the store becuas eits after 9 and I didn't want to go and make them have to cook more when it's this close to closing. I called and a woman named Shauna VERY RUDELY answered the phone, I asked her if they had any crab cakes left, she replied "uhh. I'm not a cook so I dont know." Paused and huffed and puffed then said well I'll just let you talk to one. I hear a man ask her whos on the phone and she said "here. Idk. I'm not dealing with them." He gets on the phone and tells me he's a manager... Literally seconds after this woman has told me he's a cook. I explained to him how rude she was and how they had permanently lost my business. He didn't say a word. Just hung up. I will...
