Red Chopstix — Restaurant in Elk Grove

Used to be a wonderful place with excellent food. Lately the food has been poorly cooked leaving the meat either chewy or undercooked, noodles overly greasy and the flavors just are not as they used to be. Tried to dine in with a party of four... the waitress messed up two of the plate orders, then could not figure out how to simply order the proper plates from the kitchen, Drinks were also inaccurate and refills never happened. Because of the waitress ordering an entire replacement plate instead of a lunch special, the total at the end was higher than it should have been.

It should not be a surprise that we elected not to tip as we cashed out. The waitress decided to come back to the table as we were standing to leave and tell us it was unacceptable not to tip because of all the work it takes to clean a table afterward. I could not believe what I was hearing! Excellent and normal service always gets a generous tip, but if the order is consistently messed up and no attention is being paid to the table, then no tip seems appropriate to me.

Unfortunately due to the continuing decline in quality of food, and apparent lack of service, I will not be eating...

Okay, I NEVER write personal reviews (the exception being local guide questionnaires), but the food was so incredibly good that I had to change my ways. I have lived in Cali for 2½ years and have tried SO many restaurants looking for a chicken rice noodles dish that could even come close to the one I used to eat at my favorite restaurant back on the east coast. Finally I have found one equally as delicious! Mellow on the flavor but somehow still so so good. I probably wouldn't even be able to tell your rice noodles dish apart from the one I used to eat because they are practically identical. On top of that, we also ordered the sizzling triple crown and it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend said it was the best chinese food he has tried in Sacramento. Everything came the way we ordered it. It was fresh, tasty, and had huge portion sizes for what you paid. My new favorite...

The food here is exceptional. Which is not often a word used these days, but there it is- exceptional. I shared a lunch and we had ordered the bird's nest delight and a side of fried chicken wings, as well as a sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard. The vegetables were crisp, shrimp was plump, the sauce was portioned well, and, odd thing to add, but the hot mustard here is amazing! Very hot and it paired well with the chicken. Also fairly priced. And, if you have a sweet tooth, I'd highly recomend the sesame seed balls.

The family at this restaurant is very kind and, even as a Roseville resident, I will certainly be eager to return in the future.
