McCoy's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Elk River

We were taken in by the banner advertising their great burgers. We stopped by and were told that they were understaffed and therefore the grill was closed, disappointed but hopeful we left intending to return.

We returned another day for diner hoping again to try one of the burgers. Unfortunately the grill was again closed and we were offered either a warmed up frozen pizza or something from the fryer. We left to return later.

On our third visit (there were weeks between each visit) we finally managed to catch a break and the grill was open. We had a burger each and were surprised. It tasted raw. We each looked at the burger and it appeared to be cooked through but we couldn't shake the raw beef flavor. I'm not sure if these were cooked sous vide or what but we weren't a fan.

The home made chips were good though and the server was friendly and attentive despite having to manage both the bar and the dining area on her own.

Our take away was this, if you want more than drinks call ahead and make sure they can accommodate. Maybe try something other than the burger, and be kind to...

We went for the first time to play pool & grab a beer. The pool tables are $2/ game or $10/ 8 games which is pricey for the quality of tables. We both ordered a tall castle danger which came out too foamy and a tad warm. The server even asked us if it tasted okay because it kept coming out foamy when she poured it. We drank em anyway because we weren't trying to be difficult, but when I got to the bottom of my mug, I noticed a big brown glob of something that immediately grossed me out. The server didn't seem too surprised by it and didn't even offer an apology. We talked about it for a minute and she mentioned they only clean their lines once a month 🤢. Extremely rude bar tender charged for drinks I never had. I ordered 1 tall beer and an entree ate at the bar, was charged for 2 beers and was force to pay for the second beer as she claimed she was right and the manager. Fast forward 8 months later I attempted to order for pick up I was hung up on 3 times after being placed on hold then with who I believe is the same person she argued with me telling me she said hello and that she’s too busy to wait for me to respond. I decided at that time no place that runs a business like that will get my money or support. The 1 entree I ate there was below average quality I had the pot roast or something of that nature tasted of boxed food quality. Poor service and...
