Craving a satisfying lunch spot in Elkhart? Look no further than 523 Tap & Grill! I recently had the pleasure of dining there, and let me tell you, it was an experience that deserves a full 5-star review. Flavorful Wraps & Satisfying Burgers: My taste buds did a happy dance with the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap. The grilled chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, with crispy bacon adding a delightful crunch. The cheddar cheese melted beautifully, blending seamlessly with the fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and creamy ranch dressing. The choice of spinach or sun-dried tomato tortilla was a nice touch, and I opted for the spinach, which provided a healthy and flavorful base. My dining companion opted for the Main Street Burger, and it was a sight to behold. This burger wasn't messing around! It boasted a perfectly cooked patty topped with delicious cheddar cheese, savory mushrooms, and crispy fried onion strings. The lettuce and tomato added a refreshing touch, while the BBQ-ranch sauce tied everything together with a sweet and tangy kick. Each bite was a delicious explosion of textures and flavors. Beyond the Food: The atmosphere at 523 Tap & Grill was both polished and inviting. The service was friendly and attentive, ensuring our lunch experience was smooth and enjoyable. We particularly appreciated the helpful recommendations from our server, who guided us towards the perfect lunch choices. Overall Impression: Whether you're craving a flavorful wrap or a hearty burger, 523 Tap & Grill has something for everyone. The quality of the food, coupled with the attentive service and inviting atmosphere, makes this a top contender for your next lunchtime outing in Elkhart. I highly recommend it and can't wait to return to explore their menu further!

I’ve been here a few times and it’s good but not great. I just recently went as a member of a large party (8-10) and our experience was just OK. We ordered appetizers and drinks just fine. However, it was over an hour by the time all of our food came out. I ordered the sea bass with mushroom soup as my side. Though the soup had lots of mushrooms, it felt like it came from a can and they just added mushrooms to beef it up. The rice was chewy in the soup and not pleasant. The bass was so strange. It came alone on a sad plate as you can see in the picture. The sauce on top is like a tapenade and was cold. So they put cold sauce on a hot fish making the entire dish luke warm. The fish was over cooked and led to me eating almost none of it. The waitress noticed and fixed the situation. The fix by the kitchen was to douse the new filet in butter and have it served when we were ordering dessert. This same weird timing happened with my drink. It was ordered in the middle of dinner and forgotten by the bar, twice. It came at dessert. All in, dinner was 3 hours from start time to finish. There is not lot to park, only street parking. The appetizers were good, not stellar. I don’t think I’ll be going here again anytime soon. They command high prices but don’t deliver on quality. Our server was on top of it as much as she could be with a large party.

- Atmosphere - 5 (industrial/contemporary) - Service - 3.5/5 (slow and not intuitive - no water, long wait). There are other people but your server walking around+clean/bring food), but they are silent and not helpful. The service reminds me "wanna look posh Manhattan style", lacking Midwestern hospitality - Lunch time - 4/5 - slow - lunch time must be faster. 1.5 hour. Filet Mignon took a while. I've observed other tables (had sandwiches or salads) and service/wait time was similar FOOD: - Soup - 5/5 - New England Clam Chowder - excellent (served only twice a week) - Filet Mignon - 3.5/5 - cut could be better + prepared a bit dry + sides are separate price and very limited sides offered with french fries but no mashed potatoes (compared to The Vine which is must try 5/5) - Side - Veggies - 5/5 - excellent, not your usual steamed veggies, caramelized onions, etc - Tea - 2/5 - I wasn't offered any choice, regular cheap basic Lipton bag - Dessert - 4/5 - Hazelnut cake, impossible to eat with spoon, needs fork and strength. Overly sweet. -Drinks - 5/5 - excellent Margarita

UPDATED: MY HUSBAND AND I GOT FOOD POISON ING. The only thing we ate in common was the bed of greens my octopus came on. He ate the majority of it and was very sick for several days. We spoke with a doctor who confirmed food poison. The manager was nice and tried to help what triggered it but that's very hard to do. My husband's burger was nothing special but my octopus was delicious. However the greens it was served on was not to my personal liking. I have no taste for ginger of any kind. Our waitress, Ashley, was by far the best waitress we have had in a long time. She was very friendly and quick to answer my husband's witty remarks. We will come back and ask for her again. The cre'm brule was good, and the 523 martini was spectacular.

Great place! Our server Amber was great!! Very attentive! It appears everyone was willing to help. Great atmosphere! The food was Da Bomb 💣 I ordered the clam chowder which was chocked full of clam and potatoes. I also ordered the Saganaki (fried cheese) awesome! I also ordered a spicy shrimp dish which I couldn't enjoy. They fried the shrimp and then covered it with a spicy cream sauce. Unfortunately, while the shrimp was hot, the cream sauce was cold. So, I sent it back to get warmed up. I ordered a side of rice, when it came it was mushy🤦🏽♀️. Hope it reheats good!! (Shrimp not the rice) My friend ordered the filet mignon which she said Melted In Her Mouth!!💪

523 Tap & Grill was a perfect venue for a post event celebration with team members. The staff was able to organize a larger table setting for our group of 8 within a short time. The service was great, and the food was delicious. The Tableside Saganaki was a treat to see and extremely tasty. Since it was late, our team ordered appetizers and shared between us. It was more than enough for a late snack. I have also had lunch here and was pleased as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was laid back and chill. I highly recommend 523 if you are in the area.
