Very poor business practices. Misleading product information and manager only willing to sell to selected people. Today I called their store asking about a product that was to be release today. Even asked if they had the product and they said "Yes." So me and my brother drove a hour to get it. we was both excited about purchasing this product. we arrive at the store to not see any of the product on the shelves, as we were told over the phone that it was there. After asking the kind lady at the desk, she told us that they could not sell us the product even tho it was suppose to be released today. she called her manager, he told us we could not buy the product, because it was for a "prerelease." even tho again the product was to be release today... if we knew this, we wouldn't have drove a hour to waste our time and seeing as they had a very large amount of the said product I found it hard to believe they couldn't sell us one of the very many boxes they had behind the counter. We use to come and play in the events all the time and never saw that many people for this said "prerelease." I guess me and my brother will have to shop somewhere else. where they don't lie about having product in stock...
Read moreSecret Door Games is a board game shop that has low to some high games on the scaling of weightiness (weightiness=difficulty to learn and just how complex the game is) of the games they sell. SDG is the kind of shop where you can just tell there is something special about it right when you walk in; the front of the shop looks beautiful with the decretive windows they have displaying games in the front. The beauty doesn’t stop at front door, once you walk in it just looks like a extremely well-kept and has a very high end look to it compared to any of the board game shops around. Don’t let the “high end” look discourage you from buying good priced game though; they have probably some of the best deals on games or at least are included with the other board game shops that also have great deals. The staff is really nice and welcoming, I always have an awesome time when I come in and feel in a better mood because of my visit there. They also have a bunch of demo games and 4-6 two-three person tables to play the demos on. Overall, SDG is a terrific place to check out and I can’t...
Read moreCan be good to shop if your looking for a D&D book other might not have yet. Be carefully of the extras though like dice for example. They sell a metal 6 side die that had D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, and D20 on each side respectively. They did not order it and bought it at a convention. It sells in the shop for $74.99. Walmart sells the exact same die for $25.19. I know they need to make a profit on what they sell but seriously. They bought it possibly at what the vender sold to everyone with the retail price markup already. This is just to much of a price hike and kinda rips of the customer. If they really want to sell items buy them from the proper place so when they mark it up it's not to pricey for the cutomer, and the retail markup...
