We went to a comedy show a few months back and it was a horrible first experience at the Lerner. After hearing of other poor experiences people we know have had at the Lerner, we booked a Brad Williams comedy show and showed up with 2 other couples. When we got there, we were standing about mid way in the line. The staff at Lerner didn't even start allowing guests into the building until the show was literally starting and the line moved pathetically slow. Turns out when we got to the doors we would know the reason. They failed to inform hundreds and hundreds of people ahead of time that were attending the show that they needed a certain form of ticket instead of the one we all received online. So the majority of people were needing to get into a separate line for the ticket office where they would look up the ticket and print a new one for you there. Again, painfully slow. As a result of all of this, we missed the entire first two acts and thankfully, we were taking our seats just as Brad Williams was coming out. But makes me sick that we got there 30min early and missed half of the show because of extremely poor management from the Lerner staff. We will never return and would advise anyone else to look at other nearby...
Read moreNever being here before and ordering tickets from them on the internet, I was disappointed. I am claustrophobic and need an aisle seat. I was unable to choose from what was available and forced to take what I was given. Crammed into a corner, I could only see from the center of the stage to the left side. Fortunately no one else was sitting around me so avoiding a full blown panic attack. To top it off, internet said main floor was sold out, as in none were available. On show night, half the main floor was empty. I also think there should be full disclosure on ticket prices. I don’t recall exact pricing but even the most expensive ticket was less than $100. After all their added charges, two tickets were over $300 and they were not the expensive ones. Seats weren’t comfortable but I have suffered through much worse at other venues. It is a beautiful theatre and appears...
Read moreI was at the Lerner to watch the free, pre-Thanksgiving showing of Elf; and, as usual it was a wonderful experience. The staff and volunteers were very helpful, kind, and patient with all the people. The venue itself, inside the theater was gorgeous, and the seats, the floors, and the bathrooms were very neat and clean. I always enjoy going to this theater. This is especially true because I remember, when I was younger and it was the Elco, how dingy, dusty, and grimy it used to be, but it always showed echoes of the beauty that once was. So, seeing all the renovations and the beauty that has been restored, it is always special walking into Lerner, staring up at the ceiling that used to have a gray tinge and peeling paint and see rich golds and ornate, intricate designs fitting...
