We stopped in for a little afternoon pick-me-up. A small nitro cold brew, peanut butter bar, and blueberry oatmeal bar. The lady serving us asked if I wanted a specific piece(middle, corner, etc), and that was very thoughtful. I took a corner piece of the blueberry oatmeal, and it was her choice on the PB bar. The bar had a nice peanut butter flavor, not overly sweet, but a tad dry. It still didn't stop us from eating the whole thing. Now, the blueberry oatmeal bar was a different story. It was not pleasant. I took two bites, and the rest got thrown away. This was so bizarre...it was very chewy, despite the blueberries a bit dry and even though it was clearly cooked, it tasted raw. I really can't explain it, but it was not for me. And I swear their point of service system is hooked to speakers. Every time an order went through, an extremely loud flourishing sound echoed through the whole place. It was so loud we left faster than we were planning on. We just had to get out of there. But, the service was top notch, and the cold...
Read moreI always like to try out local coffee houses when I travel and the Electric Brew did not disappoint! The staff was friendly and very helpful. There was a bit of a rush when I came in and the two ladies behind the counter didn't seem frazzled at all. They remained cheerful and polite and got all their orders done very quickly!
The iced mocha is excellent. Usually there is too much chocolate in mocha-themed beverages... what you essentially get in most cases is chocolate milk that is vaguely coffee flavored. The mocha at Electric Brew is remarkably balanced and rich. I had their dark roast coffee and it was excellent as well! The barista let me try some before I committed to a full cup.
I like how the barista bar is easily visible and you can watch them make your drink. Love the decor and the fact that it's in a historic building makes it even better. If I'm ever in Elkhart again I'll definitely be stopping in for a...
Read moreDowntown coffee shop with nice seating at tables and a few stuffed chairs. It's a quaint place, in an old building, a little "yuppie" and occasionally noisy. The coffee menu includes all the usuals (lattes, Americano, mochas, etc) well made and tasty. They have a large sign on the wall showing all the various types of coffee drinks and their relative sizes and cups. A terrific idea. Good tea selection. Their sandwiches and soups are pretty good but could be better. Sometimes too dry or bland. A bit overpriced for what you get. I was disappointed in my wrap. They don't have lemon for tea. Very annoying. They do have a selection of cake slices and bagels that can be very good though they often run out. Art and jewelry for sale decorates the walls. The bathroom is...
