Super cute restaurant, I love the decor and open seating, and overall there’s a good vibe. When we visited we wanted to sit in the outdoor area, but it had recently rained and everything was too wet and dirty to use. I got a chicken sandwich and it was okay, nothing too special. It was too moist so the bread got a little soggy and it fell apart as I ate it, which isn’t the ideal experience for a crispy chicken sandwich. The fried pickles were GREAT but be warned that the servings are big! I was with a group of 5 and we got 3 orders, now it’s 3 days later and we’re still eating fried pickles 😅 (luckily they warm up well in the air fryer)! Overall it was a good experience but didn’t quite meet my expectations. Pretty expensive for an order-at-the-counter place ($90 for 5 people😐).

Bird in the Hand is a place I used to like to grab a quick lunch or dinner, but over time the quality and value has gone down. In the beginning I would’ve rated this establishment 4 or 5 stars, but this will be my last time here and it’s an easy 2 now...and that’s after eating here about a dozen times. I’m holding this restaurant to a higher standard due to the association with Navarre Group, but it’s a shame what the quality has come to now. The chicken sandwiches leave much to be desired as seen in the photos of how the chicken sandwiches used to be compared to now. I’m surprised that the cook sent out this sad chicken sandwich today. For a few dollars more you can get a nice burger and fries from Artisan (same restaurant group).

First time visiting Bird in the Hand! What a delicious spot! So glad that we came here. We ordered the popcorn chicken, chicken tenders, salad, single smash burger, and the fresh cut fries. All of them were incredible and delicious. The hot and honey and spicy sauces were so good to dip the chicken in. Very family friendly. Loved the tunes playing in the speakers - created a fun vibe. Great service — we ordered a salad that was very edited for our daughter and they gave it to us as a regular salad. They were so gracious and amazing - they fixed it for us and gave it to us for free. Very impressed by the service!!!

Stopped around lunch time by while driving through the city. It felt like we waited a long time to get food (ordered dine in) and it wasn't clear if we were supposed to wait at (awkward)counter or sit down. I was very impressed with portion sizes of salad and fried pickle size. Good value for the price. I ordered the power salad with grilled chicken. It was fine but felt like it was missing something. Fried pickles were awesome-breading didn't slide off and was crispy. The restaurant was clean. I would come back if I'm back in town.

The atmosphere is beautiful. The windows were open with the light rain and breeze with the warm summer day, really a beautiful building and the decor is on point. The service was great. Friendly and helpful staff. The fries were awesome and the seasoning was so tasty. As for the single smashburger, it was okay. I didn't feel it was very flavorful and the sauce was alittle bland. Update: The next day both my partner and I were sick. Unsure if it was the sauce, meat or seasoning on the fries. 🥺

This was my first time at Bird In Hand! The entire experience was wonderful from start to finish! The atmosphere was perfect! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! The food was amazing (their Greek Goddess Dressing was incredible)! We met for a birthday lunch and had an amazing time together! We ended our lunch sitting and talking on their orange couch - and didn’t want to leave! So thankful for the this little modern space in downtown Elkhart! Can’t wait to go back!
