During our travels to STL, we were fortunate enough to stumble upon this nice little gem, conveniently located next to our favorite chain of gyms (Lifetime Fitness). We walked in, and were immediately greeted by a very nice hostess. She led us to a section that we had requested, and had us all set for service. Why cover this basic fact, you may ask yourself? Simply put; the other places we visited in STL didn't seem to understand the concept of greet staff, and therefore leaving us to aimlessly wander in hopes that we're not breaking some sort of rule.
Our server promptly came to our table (middle-aged blonde lady) and she was also incredibly nice to us. Again, this was NOT par for the course in this region of the state. She took orders, and had us all set to go. I had some BBQ brisket nachos with a blue moon, and the Mrs had a frenchy both were pretty good. I would definitely recommend far less BBQ sauce on the nachos, and maybe a bitore meat and queso. The sweetness of the BBQ was very overpowering, and kept me from being able to finish the food. Her French dip was excellent! She had waffle fries, which came seasoned, rather than plain and boring like a popular chicken joint that will remain unnamed. Aside from the slight, personal discrepancy with the nachos, I'd have to say that this place was "perfect"....and then comes the local Karen to ruin the visit.

The Mrs went to wash her hand real quick after eating. While in the restroom, she briefly lowered her mask to wipe her face, and another patron that was in the restroom with her children made a slight scene. Warning her children to keep their distance rather vocally, and making my wife feel incredibly uncomfortable. If you're afraid to live, then maybe don't visit a public restaurant, lady.
Aside from that encounter, we loved this place, however I have to remove a star 😕 pics will be posted...
Read moreUpon arrival I was seated by a polite and friendly hostess, and the waiter swiftly took my drink order. The restaurant is very open with plenty of seating, with booths, tables, and a bar front for those looking to come in for drinks. I ordered an espresso martini and coca cola, the martini was a little on the sweet side, the coca cola had that nice bubbly mix you want from a fountain drink. I ordered the Nashville in a basket, potato skins, and mind blowing chili for starters. For entrees I ordered the french dip and queso burger, with fries, both regular and sweet potato, as well as pub chips. The Nashville in a basket came with boneless chicken and waffle fries with pickles layered in queso and sauce, I asked for buffalo sauce with the chicken as well. The chicken was juicy and tender and cooked to perfection, and the sauce and queso really elevated the flavor, the waffle fries were somewhat under seasoned. The chili and potato skins were average and what one would expect from a diner. The french dip, pub chips, and regular fries were average and what you would expect of pub food. The queso burger was brilliant, it was quite juicy and unique in flavors, with fried jalapenos, and a light yet flavorful layer of queso and tortilla chips, additionally the sweet potato fries were exceptionally seasoned, and had great flavor. If you’re looking for an American cuisine pub and grill, that has something for everyone, and has good service and an inviting atmosphere, you can’t go wrong here, Corner Pub and Grill even offers a gluten free menu for those with Celiac’s. I highly recommended trying their sweet potato fries, and if you’re having any chicken, their buffalo...
Read moreI was here two times now and had two very different experiences.
The first visit I got the Queso Burger and fries. It's genuinely one of the best burgers I've ever had anywhere. Try it! My dad had one too and agreed. The fries were NOT overcooked for me like some reviews have talked about.
Second visit, I got the Philly cheesesteak and tots. It wasn't good. Probably the worst Philly I've ever had. A frozen Raybern philly from Walmart is better. Really bland meat with no seasoning (not even salt and pepper?), too greasy, not enough cheese, the onions weren't grilled long enough, and the tots were absolutely overcooked and dried out. Crazy bad for a $16 item.
Also, when they first brought it out, it had NO CHEESE. A Philly Cheesesteak with no cheese! They took it back and fixed it, but seriously -- how does that happen? Waitress said they accidentally gave me one meant for another table, but who orders a cheesesteak without cheese and they just so happened to also order tots as the side? lol
The wait staff are friendly. Not as attentive as a lot of other places, but they're friendly.
I was tempted to give them 3 stars, but the Queso Burger from the first visit was so good that I would feel bad giving less than 4. I want to give a 3.5 but that's not possible.
5 stars for the first visit, 2 stars for the second. I'll update this review if I go again. I probably will. Stick to the burgers and you'll be happy.
Oh, and be warned, this place isn't cheap by...
