St. Louis County Library–Daniel Boone Branch — Attraction in Ellisville

I took my 3 kids for storytime this morning and it did not disappoint! My kids are 5, 3.5, & 1.5 and all 3 were equally as happy with the whole morning. I hadn't been here before so I signed up for a library card when I walked in the door. The person who helped me was so quick and friendly. We went downstairs and they played on the computers for a bit before story time. Courtney was so engaging during story time. She really had all the kids attention. The craft afterward was quick and easy even with 3 kids to deal with. After the storytime and craft, we went to the play area and let me tell you, it's not what is expected at the library. It is FANTASTIC! The kids played so well there and didn't complain at all. I even had to make them stop playing so we could leave and get lunch. They would have stayed for another hour or more most likely. We did check out 3 books and the system in place for checking out books is so quick and easy. As we were leaving, one of the employees offered all of my kids a sticker. They were thrilled! We went into 2 bathrooms while we were there and they were both very clean and well stocked. Can't say enough about how great our library system is -- especially since merging catalogs with St. Louis Public Library. We are a family of avid readers and I homeschool our son. We can dive really deep into any topic thanks to our library branch. It's also been great to be able to borrow Nintendo Switch games, tabletop/board games, and puzzles. My favorite fun feature recently has been the Blind Date With A Book table. My son has loved all the teen programs he's attended this year, and my daughter has found a new love for graphic novels thanks to them being so well displayed...

Impressively nice library with children's library, complete with play area, in the downstairs. Adult reading materials and study/meeting rooms in upstairs. Very up to date facility with robotic book return and clean bathrooms. Always busy with patrons of all ages browsing books and studying. Have not had any issues with people loitering here.
