My wife and I visited July 12, which happened to be their first night of business. We had a great time! When we first arrived, we took a walk through the establishment and very much liked what we saw. This is a very spacious bar with several seating areas including an outdoor patio. There are many large hi-def TVs available for viewing your favorite events, and a separate area for darts. The beautiful stained wood bar seats about 25 and is backed by 40 taps with a great selection of craft beer. We decided to sit at a hi-top table with a view of the bar and several TVs. Our server was quick to welcome us and provide a menu describing over 300 available bottled beers. She also pointed out the large screen monitors that display the list of draft beers currently on tap. The select of beer was excellent and we our server suggested we sample a couple before we made our selections. I started out with a Stone's Arrogant Bastard ale and my wife selected the locally brewed Charleville Tornado Alley Amber Ale; both were excellent.
This bar does not serve food, but they encourage you to bring your own or have some delivered. We picked up a pizza from Dewey's in the same shopping center and enjoyed it at our table while we drank our next round. Several servers checked on us during the evening and we had no problems getting another beer when we wanted one. It's obvious customer service and satisfaction is high priority.
We had such a good time, we decided to come back for more the next night. It was a lovely evening in St. Louis and we spent some time out on the patio. The service there was just as good as inside and there was a good crowd of friendly people of various age groups. We are looking forward to many more evenings at the...
Read moreGreat for: couples, groups, families with little kids, craft beer lovers, wood fired pizza lovers, sports enthusiasts, and more! — my husband, toddler, and I first visited April 2022 and have returned at least once every 2 weeks since then. Most recently, tonight (July 9, 2022). Service is always friendly. Sometimes, it is a bit slower than we would like, for keeping a 2yo happy, but mostly that’s the nature of wood fired pizza. If we say we’re in a hurry (close to bedtime, for example), they always react promptly. In the time that we’ve been visiting, their has been a Dramatic increase in the number of families with littles. They were awaiting a delivery of more high chairs about a month ago, but I think they must have received them now, because there were already kids at tables when we arrived, but they still had 1 regular height high chair and 1 (amazing!) bar table height high chair available. Today, our server was Abby, and she was wonderful, but we have been served by at least half of their staff since April, and all have been great! We are big fans of their flights ($11 for 4 pours) and their pizza (toddler approved)! We haven’t ordered anything else so far. When dining inside, they have many TVs, often tuned to local sporting events, but with the audio set to oldies or contemporary music, so regular visitors can have a good time too. It’s loud enough inside that when our toddler gets rambunctious, no one minds, but not so loud that I cannot hold a conversation with my family. Despite my natural inclination to trying new things, this has absolutely become my comfort zone: a place where we know we’ll have a great meal and...
Read moreThe patio was LOVELY: beautifully done up with fresh growing flowers in hanging pots and with care taken in the presentation.
I was THRILLED to discover they sell Quirk, a Missouri/semi-locally brewed SELTZER (made in Kansas City, MO, and a non-vodka based and yet also amazingly GLUTEN FREE!!!). Not many places serve my drink of choice, so YAY Crafty Chameleon, yet one more reason to return!
Megan, one of the co-owners, was delightfully welcoming, attentive to our drink needs, and yet not 'too attentive'. She had spunk and sparkle and was chatty enough to answer all our questions and point us to the specials as well as explain their gluten friendly options! Admittedly, while we did not come for food on the day of our visit, I could not wait to return, so we could try the g/f pizza, SO I signed up for rewards...and guess what?! My birthday was a mere 7 days later, and our visit fell on the last day of the previous month; nonetheless, THE NEXT DAY, I had an email offering me a TEN DOLLAR OFF BIRTHDAY REWARD!! Now THAT is a VERY GENEROUS birthday reward on short turnaround!
I ran to the restroom while there, and I happened to see several flyers on my way advertising Crafty Chameleon's participation in and sponsorship of a blood drive...how cool is that?! I also saw a notice of bags tournaments happening out on their patio...the fun never ends in this place, folks! It is such a family friendly, local gathering joint filled with tasty options for gluten friendly food as well as brick oven baked traditional pizzas and calzones with gluten. SO MUCH LOCAL AWESOMENESS in this place...go check...
