I'll be honest- I'm not much of a "sweets" girl all the time but occasionally I don't mind a little treat. And I'm so glad that I was able to experience Butter Pecan!
Ironically, I remember the owner in a commercial about a cookie shop when they first opened but I never checked it out. Let me tell you- these are some of the best cookies I've tasted.
I went on Friday around 1 pm- there was some street parking across from the store (pay n' park) and there's also a public parking garage right next to it. It's conveniently located on the corner and easy to find.
The interior is small however there is some seating outside for you to enjoy on a nice day. When you walk in, you can view the cookies clearly in the display case. There were a few people there when I walked in. I'd like to give a big shout out to Liz (behind the counter) for walking me through her personal favorites and some of the best sellers. According to her, the brown butter pecan is the top seller and anything with dark chocolate or bananas come in a close second.
For my five- I chose (2) brown butter pecans, banana pudding, strawberry shortcake and oatmeal raisin pecan for my Mom.
I rushed back to my car to try them out but I resisted until I got home because I was going to do a video review. The cookies didn't stand a chance- LOL.
The cookies were very fresh (baked that morning) and even though they weren't that "right out of the oven warm and gooey soft"- they were still soft in the middle with a little crunch that I enjoy. My favorites in order:
BROWN BUTTER PECAN- You can definitely taste the love (and the butter) in these and it had a nice amount of pecans for me. They definitely taste like someone's Grandma made them.
BANANA PUDDING- Oh my..... I could taste the vanilla pudding flavor and as soon as I got to the middle- I bit into a nice combination of fresh banana and pudding flavor. It was divine!
STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE- TBH, I didn't get much of a cheesecake flavor but I did get a lot of FRESH strawberries and a buttery goodness to it.
Overall, I will definitely be back to try other flavors.
The size of the cookies are big (not skimpy)- the customer service was great, price point is reasonable and the plus was everyone gets a coupon for a free cookie on their next visit no matter which location you try. If you sign up for a free rewards membership- you can collect points towards...
Read moreVery annoyed by my visit to the Emeryville location today. I came in asking if I could get points/credits added to my account for an order I completed on Amazon. The young lady at the register was confused about what I was asking and then asked her shift lead. The shift lead looked at me and said âI remember you you were in here asking for credit last time and you can leaveâ. I I asked her what she was talking about and went ahead and clarified what my question was. And also specified the difference between the question as today and the question asked months ago, which never was resolved, As I never received credits for the undercooked cookies I received. Even though I never got any free cookies, I still shopped here, Not even asking about the cookies anymore. Mind you this was many months ago. So today in me, asking for points to be added for online order I was berated and made to feel like I was begging for free cookies and then Told to leave the store with a pointing finger. My patience had had enough and yes, I gave her a verbal lashing right back. Clearly, these young adults are not being trained on how to engage customers properly. Your shift lead holsterâs no authority over your customers, especially when I was not initially being disrespectful or unruly. Being told to leave your establishment with someone finger pointing towards the door, not only discriminatory, but very degrading. I see why this place has low trafficâŚ. Itâs because of the staff you decide to hire that treats your customers that look like you, the owner, a Black man In such terrible ways.
Then when I called the Pinole store to try and reach a manager, I told the young lady the story instead of her, putting it on hold she sat the phone down and begin laughing with another coworker about what I told her on the phone and then came back to the phone as if they were not just laughing at my story and said they had no way of reaching the owner. So once again, I let them know how unprofessional they were so it seems thereâs a problem at both of your stores. Because this is a Black owned establishment, I will not take this to social media⌠But Iâm really hoping that this could...
Read moreApproximately 3 weeks ago I was driving down 65th Street in Emeryville and I noticed there were very large cookies signs displayed in the window of a small Bakeshop on the corner. the smell of fresh baked cookies filled my vehicle and guided me into a parking space near by. I was going in to try out one cookie since the smell had overtaken me at the stop light. When I went into the store, there was a nice gentleman and a nice young lady with very comforting smiles. They were friendly and seemed knowledgeable about each and every cookie. I was impressed by their knowledge as well as their customer service, And I told them if your cookies are as good as your customer service you have a new customer. I ended up buying 2 banana pudding, 2 banana toffee, and 2 walnut brownie cookies. Three weeks later and Iâm Hooked, I love the cookies! I have tried almost all of them, Strawberries & Cream is my favorite. Maybe not! Iâm not sure which one is my favorite. I think I like them all. They are perfectly baked and you get a crisp around the edges with a softness in the middle. They have lots of taste and flavor. I have never experienced such a cookie. ( this guy is a professional at baking cookies) Well my friend you have earned lots of customers alone through me. lots of my friends & constituents are looking forward to tasting your cookies and doing business with you in the future! To the readers of this post, Please do not buy out all of the cookies in the shop, ( đ Save...
