Super Duper Burgers — Restaurant in Emeryville

This for what I’ve ordered is garlic fries with salt on them. It’s very salty due to the amount of salt that was being put in on the fries themselves, except for the garlic mixture that flavors the fries. At first, when I started ordering, I asked them for this kind of fries with no salt on the fries themselves, before adding the garlic mixture to the fries themselves. When I got a response from a couple of employees that are working there about how it was made when I made the request for no salt on the fries itself, they said they usually put salt on the fries, no matter what kind of different fries that you ordered. For example, if it’s just regular French fries with nothing on them, they just put the salt on the fries no matter what the customer is asking for, no salt or not. In other words, they said that they couldn't do that at my request because of having no salt on the fries itself, except for the garlic mixture. It was not right of them to refuse to fulfill my request for my fries when I was asking for no salt on my fries. I tried the other location of the same name, and they said that they don’t put salt on their fries. That is how I know that the other locations know how they handle their fries like that with good customer service. In the end, all they asked me was to see if I wanted to cancel my order. At that time, for the time that they were open until closing for the night, I decided to order them because the other location was closed at 9pm. I was visiting emeryville, and was in the public market for lunch. As a milkshake lover, super duper burgers immediately peeked my interest. As I couldn’t figure out what to order, the cashier was patient and helpful. I decided to get a mini burger, French fries, and a cookies n cream shake. I was a little surprised to see the total as 20 dollars, so if you are looking for something inexpensive, unfortunately this might not be the right place. Not a long wait. After I got my food, I immediately dug in. The fries were delicious, a nice crunch on the outside, but soft on the inside. Perfectly salted. Is definitely in my top 5 fries. The cookies n cream shake was amazing. A little less thick than places like hopdoddy, shake shack, and chik fil a, but still hit the spot. Great amount of Oreos and can definitely compete with the places I already listed. As far as the burger, it was cooked as I asked, well done. The buns were soft but firm enough to support the burger. The patty tasted fresh and seasoned. The lettuce and tomato’s also tasted fresh and really helped balance the burger. The cheese was great as well. Overall, a great experience. In my opinion, for the quality of the food, perhaps it is priced right. But it is on the more expensive side, especially the shake. But if you are looking for a fresh and delicious burger, fries, and Oreo/cookies and cream shake, this is the spot. Will definitely be coming back next time I’m...

We were driving down the freeway and needed to make a pit stop when we just happened upon the free 120 minute parking lot across the road from this and other restaurants. We hadn't planned on ordering any food but while stopped I ventured over to see what was available. It was a little late so quite a few of the restaurants inside public market were closing. I almost gave up and walked back to the truck when I saw this burger place and stopped to look at the menu. That's when I saw the garlic fries. There it was, exactly what we needed at that point in the day. It was just under $10 for two orders. It was truly the perfect food for this stop. They were amazing. They were insanely crispy, almost like the fries were battered before frying. There was SO much garlic, I could smell it immediately through the bag. And cheese, can't forget the cheese. The kind staff member who handed them to me looked at me like she knew what she had just handed me would be life changing. And so they were, life changing, life giving, amazing, and satisfying. Sometimes, it's those unexpected moments, in life, that bring life so much pleasure. The garlic fries were exactly that. A reminder that life is beautiful, despite all the horrors we face from day to day. They were so good, I went back in for a strawberry milkshake. It was also perfect.
