Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Encinitas

With competition from Wendy's on one side and several healthy options on the other, all within this little strip mall, Jersey Mike's Subs falls right in the middle for price and freshness. Above average for flavor though.

I was hungry today, so I opted for the Big Kahuna Cheese Steak Sandwich. This was a good decision! It was hot, cheesy, overflowing with meat and mushrooms, onions, and peppers dripping from the rosemary and parmesan bread that tasted divine. Yes, I even picked up every cheesy mushroom that fell to the wrapper and gladly are.

I'd return for the food alone, but what truly sets this seemingly pedantic strip mall sandwich shop apart from the surrounding competition is the customer centric paradigm of this well run establishment. While training a new staff member, the seasoned crew never missed a beat while covering the heavy influx of lunchtime customers. The service quality never faltered.

P.S. The bathroom was...

I'm surprised with the restaurant that big that they can only make two sandwiches at a time. I remember when Jersey Mike's used to make fast food as a fast food restaurant. The person working on the grill had two sandwiches to make and could not put anything else on because apparently his brain capacity was at its limits.

I remember when I used to work at this place and I could cook six sandwiches at a time on that grill as well as put multiple sandwiches in order and not have to do one customer at a time. Rest in peace,...

This is the worst Jersey Mike's on Encinitas Blvd. All the rest I'd rate them 5 stars. I won't be returning because the past 4 times I've been there they got my order wrong. I asked for mustard, and pickles, and on one, vinegar and oil on the side. Never got the mustard or pickles for my orders, and one was drenched in oil and vinegar. They also barely put anything else on your sandwich. I'm not sure why they skimp on portions but it's disappointing so I'm not going to return to that...
