Story time! I'm 31 walking in with my 11 year old and 1 year old to MY birthday dinner. I walk up to check in and am talking to the amazing host/manager woman with white hair and out of no where my 1 year old vomits all over me and himself, I stand there totally just shocked, embarrassed and instantly over whelmed and the manager just jumps into action and goes get towels and my kiddo gags again, I turn to run outside and another host grabs the door for us as I run out. They brought me real towels and warm clothes to help wipe him up while his brother grabbed the diaper bag from the car. We get most of it off outside and excise ourselves to the bathroom to change. I managed to get away with it only on my sweater not entire outfit, cleaned him up fresh clothes etc in the diaper bag. We then go back out to address the side walk(I'm panicked at this point because how do you even get vomit off cement?) And the woman already had it handled and made sure we didn't need anything else and showed us to the back party room. I'm already over whelmed by birthdays, I'm over whelmed by vomiting babies, I'm embarrassed about the scene and the mess and just mortified. Im feeling guilty because someone else is cleaning up my childs vomit. And I'm trying not to cry and in walks Ray, our savior server!! He is freaking fantastic. He was good with the kids, made sure the baby had bread and a cup before anything else! He was slow enough for the grandparents and fast enough for us. Funny and bold but worded appropriately in front of children. He was attentive and on the ball and genuinely funny. He was thoughtful and was able to really read the room. Something not all people can do. Very humorous and relatable and kind. Absolutely great server!!
The food was all perfect and came out quick, drinks were good and the fried dough/donut things with raspberry jelly OMG amazing! Every one was full and enjoyed their meals and apps and desserts! Steak cooked perfect, vegetarian food double checked, bland sick kid food, seafood ALL MADE PERFECTLY lol
I almost didn't stay, but everyone drove out in the middle of a work week even from distances, so despite my own anxiety, I stayed. It ended up being one of the best birthday dinners I've had to date. All because of the team here at enfield Olive garden. They made a very tough situation manageable, and the server made the evening entertaining(without being over bearing which is hard AF to balance IK) and as a single anxious over stimulated mother with the vomiting baby, you have no idea how much each of those multiple simple efforts mean to me. GREAT TEAM, GREAT FOOD AND GREAT EVENING....
Read moreI recently had a disappointing experience at this specific Olive Garden, a restaurant I used to love. This particular location was once known for its exceptional service and delicious Italian cuisine, but sadly, it seems that those days are long gone.
Upon entering, my party and I were greeted with indifference by the hostess, a stark contrast to the warm welcomes I remembered. We were seated promptly but left waiting for what felt like an eternity before a server finally acknowledged our presence.
Once our orders were placed, the problems only continued to mount. Our bottle of wine arrived. Placed in bucket and just literally handed over to us. All other times at least the first glass would be poured. Fine we thought, just a few not so positive encounters but we forged on determined to have a better outlook and hopeful of a better outcome.
Unfortunately, the server seemed disinterested in our requests for breadsticks, a staple of the Olive Garden experience. She did not ask us if we wanted soup or salad and just brought out salad. Told her I wanted soup and it was a bigger than should have been ordeal.
When our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and dry, as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. To make matters worse, the server did not check on us. It was evident that the once-attentive and friendly service at this Olive Garden had been replaced by a lackluster and indifferent approach.
To top it off, we were up charged for something we did not order. The manager came over and she also even seemed uninterested.
This experience was a stark departure from the Hazard Ave Olive Garden I fondly remembered, where the staff used to go out of their way to ensure an enjoyable dining experience. Sadly, it seems that this particular location has let its standards slip, and I can't help but feel disappointed by the decline in service quality.
I hope that Olive Garden management takes notice of these issues and works to restore the exceptional service that once made this restaurant a standout in...
Read moreWe were seated quickly but the service was mediocre at best. It was as though they were avoiding our table. We had to constantly watch for our server because we couldn't get drinks refilled, weren't asked about bread sticks, and we were never asked how things were or if it was correct. When the server did come (when ordering and then when we flagged them down for a refill), they sounded annoyed and completely uninterested.
The soups were cold and bland. I'm guessing they expect you to put salt in it from the table because it was not seasoned at all.
As for the entrees, don't order the carbonara. It was not even a carbonara, and whatever it was can only be called disgusting. It tasted like some kind of over-aged gorgonzola in a slimy alfredo sauce that was separating into one part oil one part solid cheese. Seriously, carbonara is simple and isn't difficult to make. This was nothing like carbonara, and it belonged in a garbage bin rather than on a menu.
We wanted to say something about how inedible the carbonara was but after someone (who was not the server) brought out our entrees, the server didn't come back until long after we were ready to leave. The other entre was eggplant parmigiana, which was better than the carbonara, but still tasted bland, was watery, and the three slices of eggplant were far too thin than to warrant the $18.
The one bite of carbonara made my partner sick, so we wanted to just leave as quickly as possible, and the best thing about our meal ended up being the little kiosk that lets you pay at the...
