A+++ for us. It was our first time here and my grandma is wheelchair bound. Looking online, it looked like the diner was wheelchair accessible but it is not, unless you want to eat outside. For us, I wanted my grams to get the whole experience so we must go inside. She wasn’t too happy about trying to go up the steps … they are relatively short and good sturdy rails but they were very hard rock and the step had a slight overhang.
From the get go, the staff rushed 🏃♂️ 💨 out of the diner to take her wheel chair and help her up the steps. When we sat down they sat us as close to the door and bathroom as possible with a large aisle. These details are not something waiters usually understand but these guys and gal were very observant. Gramma can’t travel far so being by the door saves her a lot of pain when it’s time to go.
They were SO incredibly sweet.
She LOvED the fresh homemade pickles 🥒 and when she told the waiter they were the best she’d ever had, he brought more for her to take home.
As for the food.. we are salad girls and the salad was 🥗 HUGE . I got fried chicken salad which is a dish that’s hard to find a southern version of. This was so good! My only critique in the food was that the ranch was a little sour for me. Gramma liked it. I’m originally from the Southwest so ranch is in my bloodline haha. I appreciate that everything seemed to be homemade. For the ranch, I suggest the Hidden Valley powder packets that you mix (not the bottled stuff!!).
Yeah, I’ve been to Jackson Hole Diner 🐎 before but I had no idea we had one in NJ. This was a great find.
They make their own orange juice.
Yeah.. we were both happy with the food and most importantly the customer service and goodwill we received make it extra special to me.
It seems like in this day and age 🌎 people don’t respect their elders as much as they should. Not here. Everyone was super amazing and treated her like a queen, like it was her birthday 🎂 and she left in all smiles.
One of the gentleman who helped her down the stairs refused my tip several times before I practically begged him to take it. He has such a good soul and wanted to do all that for the bottom of his heart.
So thank you 🙏 thank you 🙏 thank you for making my dear grammy feel so special and taken care of. She loved seeing the diner and remarked about the nicest people she’s met in a while.
Thank...
Read moreLet me start by saying breakfast was terrible, I know they were known for their burgers and still are I think? Well let's just say breakfast will never be on the menu again at this place, eggs veggies and home fries as well as toast. How could that possibly be done wrong. I've had better at the corner deli, seriously even the coffee taste like its from the 70's. The worst part is this place is a cash only business but after the breakfast I had. I feel the they only deserves credit instead seriously. It literally felt like they shorted me food going thru a drive thru at a fast food window. As that wasn't enough to top it off their prices weren't even worth it... and especially FOR BREAKFAST and I'm not cheap whatsoever! I expected more from this company. Maybe because what i remembered the established they were. Just famous for the burgers back then. However now I won't even think about it for lunch or dinner....if they couldn't even get breakfast rite. Oh well I guess there's a reason why pathmark, woolworth and all those old establishment are out of business.....I really couldn't wait to eat there this morning and I ran out just as quick as I parked. All for a $20 breakfast, I just wanted a good meal. Although even it was all done I felt it was money thrown away. Lastly to top it all off You would think if they wanted cash instead of credit it would be cheaper at the counter but no way. Instead they will charge you at their ATM justifying their business to only except cash and some how left me thinking I wish I had went to dunkin donuts instead.. sorry guys... no more ol establishments for me. I normally only leave a revue if the food or establishment is great. I still believe in that old saying if you can't say something nice......but I left this morning feeling like I was pick pocketed lol. It really wasn't funny at that moment in hind sight It was just very disappointing overall. I can only laugh now because I don't want anyone feeling the same way. Good luck jackson holes! I really mean that, you actually survived the pandemic but I'm not sure if you can...

This was such a cool spot to visit. As a burger lover, as a photographer, and as a lover of all things nostalgic, this retro diner ticked all my boxes. In fact, the dressings and decorations are such that were it not for the smartphones in everyone's hand, it'd be hard to know you weren't suddenly thrown back to the 80s.
They set down plates of their fresh pickles as soon as you get to the table, and I loved these. They're closer to brined cucumbers than the taste of full-on bottled pickles, and it was hard to not gobble all of them up before we got our food.
The menu is diner-like in its scope and variety, but I personally wouldn't dare order anything but its burgers. One, because the very name suggests their speciality; two, because such a large portion of their menu is dedicated to their burger varieties, and three, because I was seated with a direct view of the grill, and it was clear they knew what they were doing when it comes making burgers.
What sets Jackson Hole's burgers apart are their size and cooking method. Each burger is an entire fistful of fresh beef, which has a goblet thrown on top of it as soon as it hits the grill. What results is a giant patty that is both large and juicy from the steam-like action. I ordered their New York burger, a more classic type, while my husband went a little wild with their Texas burger, which comes topped with chili and an egg. Both were extremely filling and somewhat messy to eat. For my preferences, I found that the large patties threw the bun-to-meat ratio off a little, but we certainly didn't leave hungry. Also note: the prices reflect the serving sizes.
Most of the available seating are booths and small tables, but our server was kind enough to let me walk into the back where there were larger booths and a semi-private room (which looked like it could seat up to 9 or 10). The back part of the restaurant was even more a blast from the past than the front, and I imagine fans of the 80s would...
