Came in to get drinks with my friends from out of town. My friend ordered a peppermint match and received a mocha breve. They noted the mistake and fixed it. I ordered a large iced white mocha peppermint latte with almond milk and decaf espresso. I paid $9 and change including a 30% tip. We took a seat near the bar and I watched the barista put regular mocha in the drink instead of white mocha. I kindly asked if that was for my drink and didn’t want her to waste extra product before finishing the drink but I wanted white mocha. She asked if it was just a white mocha a little irritated and I said no a peppermint white mocha and I reminded her that I have decaf because of a heart condition. It’s easy for people to forget that part of the drink. She remade the drink and put regular milk in the drink. I wouldn’t have minded but I’m lactose intolerant. I just said my drink was almond milk and the barista said she must not have heard that and gave a weird look. I just asked for a refund and she became very rude and passive aggressive telling me she would just remake it. I stated that I wanted a refund and she said they would just remake it again. I told them I didn’t want to wait any longer because we’ve had to wait for a few remade drinks at this point already. She said had literally only been three minutes all rude and said it would just take a second. I told her no I wanted a refund and went to the counter for the refund. I forgot my wallet at my table and said hold up let me get my wallet real quick. I came back and she said do you want the refund or not. I said if you’re so insistent on making the drink instead the other barista can make my drink but I don’t want her to make my drink with the level of attitude she had. She gave me a dirty look and I just said what is your problem with me here? She smiled but in a rude tone said she didn’t have a problem and she just wants to remake my drink. I said fine and let them remake the drink. The guy who made my drink just slammed it on the counter in a sloppy fashion and said here’s your drink. I just didn’t say anything or go get it because I was so taken back. He then barked “this is yours” at me and gestured to it sharply and walked away. My friend grabbed the drink for me but I’m too uncomfortable to even drink it. I don’t trust that it was made right or well out of the animosity the workers showed. They gave me no reason to believe they respected my business so why would they respect my health concerns. My boyfriend I have been coming to this shop for almost 9 months and I’ve never had this issue or seen the girl working before. My friends were at the table the whole time I was talking to the baristas, but When we left my friend said they seemed super rude and noted that they didn’t even greet us when we came in. My friend said she felt like there was premade bias against us right away because of the external factors that two of my friends present. Overall embarrassed I took them here...
Read moreInconsistency seems to be the norm here, whether it’s the inconsistent quality of coffee or the staff, who can range from friendly to not-so-much. Regardless, I’ve been coming weekly to work and grab coffee for over a year, trying to make this my local spot. After today, I won’t be back. My experience aligns with other reviews mentioning "unfriendly", "standoffish", "disrespectful", and "distracted" staff.
I had been patiently waiting for my drink when a barista mentioned someone had accidentally taken my order and kindly offered to remake it. When she placed the drink on the counter, I politely asked if it was mine, just to be sure I wasn’t taking someone else’s. That’s when the older barista, she is there frequently, decided to yell at me in front of everyone, telling me to take the drink and accusing me of three remakes – which was absolutely not the case. It was embarrassing and completely uncalled for.
Despite being within walking distance, I’d rather take my money and go further to get coffee from a place with friendly staff who appreciate loyal customers. Kaladi is not a great way to start...
Read moreI fell in love with Kaladi Brothers when I spent a summer in Alaska. When we moved to Colorado I had no idea that Kaladi existed outside of the last frontier, and when we were returning our U-Haul my partner pointed this out. I was overcome with joy to know that the same coffee I was head over heels for in Alaska had two locations 5 minutes from my house.
Their air roasted coffee lacks the burnt garbage taste of their competitors (yes, I’m looking at you Starbucks). The rich, slightly sweet flavor of their beans will make your tastebuds swoon. I’m a fan of the Kaladi latte and occasionally will get a flat white.
Even when busy this place is relatively quiet. The folks who patron it are respectful and friendly. The folks who work there are equally respectful and friendly and somehow always go the extra mile even for an unspectacular order. One guy loves to go pet my dogs in the car, another makes me feel better about requesting a latte to be extra sweet and just a little hot but not a lot hot because I burnt my tongue the night before but caffeine...
