Got there about 7:20pm. Note on door said they'd be closing at 8pm. Asked before we were seated about closing time & was told we'd be fine & have time, so we sat. We'd seen an ad on tv for burger, fries & pie for $9.99, didn't see anything about it menu wise & asked our server. She came back with a menu insert & we ordered. As I was ordering I saw on the insert that it had normal menu price by the burger ($13.99) but it didn't really register until server had left. I mention & my dining guest went to ask. As I was not part of the conversation I don't know what they were told but they seemed satisfied with the answer. We get served pretty darn fast & were impressed with this. Then we eat. We've both ordered the... Uh... Breakfast burger one, with egg & hash browns in with the burger. Very impressed with the taste & freshness of the ingredients, egg was perfectly cooked, beautifully runny yolk on the inside, crispy& flavorful bacon & hamburger was seasoned well. The fries were perfectly cooked, & perfectly tasty. Unfortunately I cannot say for the pie, as we were so full we couldn't finish & had to take it home, where I have yet to finish my leftovers from last night, but I did taste it (wildberry) and seems like it will be delicious! We were very pleased overall with our meals. It was about 8:10 when the server brought our checks, never once mentioning closing early, NEVER making us feel rushed, etc which was great! When we got the check, we were charged $13.99 each for the special. However, it was so good (& honestly with the way prices are going with inflation it's still a good deal) we didn't say anything. We left a cash tip for the great & friendly service (which I haven't really mentioned, but she was a great server) and went to check out. One of the managers was there to check us out (said she'd been there 18 years!) She was very nice & friendly & apparently they have newish systems there which gave her issues at checkout, which lengthened our time there... but the manager took care of us in what we feel was pretty unfair for THEM & made us feel guilty, because the meal was so good, but add the service to that & we'll...
Read moreWatch out for this place , I went there with my two kids and myself . I ordered the eggs Benedict plate , my son got a waffle with bacon and a kids root beer to drink . My daughter ate the side of fruit that came with my plate and ordered a waffle for her to try with a kids root beer . I drank coffee and a water . The bill came out and it was 51 dollars . Not knowing that a kids waffle “ I thought “ was a kids waffle cost 11.49 each ! Who in their right mind would charge someone 11:49 for a single waffle . This place is a ripoff and I will never return . The service was nice , but that’s not enough to come back and pay 11:49 for a freaking waffle , I don’t care if it’s a “Belgium “ waffle made of gold . Places like this will go out of business as the cost of everything continues to rise . Last I feel that as the food was ordered the waitress could have suggested a different waffle for my children to eat for breakfast if they had one . A few things probably could have been different to make this experience better but I still do not think it would have changed the price much either . It’s sad that I can’t go out any enjoy breakfast with my kids anymore because of the cost . I could feed 5 people for 50 dollars at home so I guess that’s what I will do from here on out . Thanks again Perkins for ruining my...
Read moreThe staff and manager were really great!!!! I felt really bad for the poor building!!!! The bathroom had one stall that was also the handicapped stall!!?? The decor felt like it was from the 1950s. I'm terrified of what is behind the inches of plaster they threw on the walls!!! I don't think the heat worked in the bathroom or the other side of the building. This was in December!! I know remodeling costs a ton and they probably don't have it in the budget!!!
The pleasant attitude of the workers really made the dining experience pleasant, but the dim lighting and old interior brought down the morale a bit. I think people who go to Perkins remember dining there for decades!!! I love the pancakes and would hate to lose the 2 Perkins we have in the area!!!
The Perkins on Byers road feels like it is newer but maybe it isn't. It definitely has an updated interior and bathroom!! Byers Road does have more windows, so it feels brighter. I had one awful experience there with a check out person so that weights on my mind!
I usually have the same food so I can't say a lot about it. It's definitely comfort food!!! I go through phases where I order the same thing all the time. The pot roast is to die for, as well as the pancakes,...
