Pho Hong, situated on the vibrant Southeastern Avenue in Las Vegas, is a dazzling jewel that embodies the heart and soul of Vietnamese comfort cuisine. The moment you step inside, you're enveloped in an atmosphere that radiates warmth and invites you to unwind, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. My father and I approached dinner with eager appetites, and we departed convinced that this charming establishment is truly a standout in the city's vast culinary landscape.
We started our meal with the Grilled Meatball Spring Roll, a remarkable harmony of flavors and textures. Delicate rice paper wrappers embraced smoky, savory grilled meatballs, complemented by a vibrant medley of crisp herbs, silky vermicelli, and fresh lettuce. The dipping sauce, bright and nuanced, became wonderfully addictive, enhancing every bite with its layers of flavor.
As for my main course, I chose the Phở Đặc Biệt (pronounced fuh dak beet), a dish that transcends mere sustenance to become an exquisite orchestration of flavors. The broth was nothing short of ethereal, a deep and soulful elixir that spoke of hours spent simmering to perfection. The rice noodles were cooked to perfection—tender yet with a delightful springiness—serving as the perfect canvas for an enticing assortment of beef cuts and offal, each ingredient contributing its distinct personality. Fresh garnishes of fragrant basil, crunchy bean sprouts, zesty jalapeño, and vibrant lime added an exciting burst of flavor to each spoonful, transforming the dish into a comforting and aromatic experience that lingered in my memory.
My father opted for the Cơm Tấm (broken rice), a plate that echoed generosity and meticulous artistry. Pillowy broken rice, with its unique, satisfying texture, was elegantly paired with smoky grilled pork that danced between sweet and savory notes. A perfectly fried egg, its molten yolk a tempting invitation, accompanied the dish along with the exquisite chả trứng—a light and airy meatloaf-inspired egg loaf that offered both substance and delicacy. Crisply fried shrimp added a delightful crunch, while pickled carrots and daikon provided a refreshing tang that cut through the richness of the dish. Slices of cucumber acted as a terrific palate refresher, and the fragrant scallion oil elevated the dish further. All these components melded perfectly with the golden, sweet-salty-tangy nước chấm, creating a seamless and harmonious dining experience.
The service at Pho Hong was exemplary; the staff embodied a blend of efficiency and genuine warmth, anticipating our needs with an intuitive grace. Remarkably, the prices were incredibly reasonable considering the generous portion sizes and quality—the perfect balance that ensures Pho Hong is not just a one-time indulgence but a place you'll find yourself returning to time and again.
In a bustling city filled with numerous dining options, Pho Hong stands out as a sanctuary where tradition meets culinary precision. Each plate emerges as a heartfelt tribute to Vietnamese home cooking, nourishing not just the appetite but also the soul, making it a must-visit gem...

I placed an online order for pick up at 5:40 pm. Email notified me that order would be ready around 6:05 pm, which is when I arrived. Cashier informed me that my order wasn’t ready yet but they were working on it. Over the next 30 minutes, I watched diners enter the restaurant, sit at a table, give the server their order and get served 15 minutes later. All while I was still waiting for my order that I had placed 45 minutes earlier. I asked the cashier and the guy who appeared to be in charge. He shrugged his shoulders and said hey, some food takes longer than other orders. (I just ordered Pho and egg rolls, same thing everyone else was getting way before me) Finally got food after a 53 minute wait. Bottom line is they lost track of my order. Ok, everyone makes mistakes, but their dishonest, bad-attitude reply to me, combined with no concern to make it right, really showed terrible customer service. Food: my wife said her vegetable tofu Pho was good. Spring rolls were pretty good but only 2 tiny ones came in the order. My chicken Pho was average. If you don’t mind being ignored and treated disrespectfully while you wait a long time for average food, then this place might be for you, but...
