Reply to Shane’s Customer Service. For some reason my previous review has been deleted. Too brief perhaps, for an unfavorable review?
I went here with three other people at my friend’s suggestion. Never having been to Enterprise before, he chose Shane’s based on a Google search. I had never been to this BBQ restaurant before myself, but have been to numerous BBQ places in the past 40+ years, and believe I know good BBQ vs adequate vs poor quality food. For the past few years I have been primarily eating BBQ that we smoke at home. I had reservations when we pulled up and I realized this was a chain restaurant.
Sauces are not what I’m criticizing, as there are numerous styles, each with aficionados who proclaim one “the best.” All I can say to that is tastes vary. My personal preference is a North Carolina style, but sometimes I enjoy a thick sweet sauce, sometimes a hot and spicy. It depends. Shane’s sauces were fair to good though nothing exceptional. Sides were unremarkable. Service also was, again, adequate.
My unfavorable review is based on preparation of the meat. That I believe to be the main basis for judging BBQ. I ordered the rib and pork plate, hoping to be pleased, or at least get one good entree. Instead the ribs were over cooked, dry and chewy. The meat did not fall on the bone ooozing flavor. The pork was an even greater disappointment. It was excessively fatty, as if whoever pulled the meat threw everything on the plate with no regard to what was being served. I repeatedly bit into disgusting chunks of fat. In short, the food was so unacceptable that I left 3/4ths of it on the plate. My fiancé and I agreed that this was the worst barbecue we had been served in years.
I tend to not leave bad reviews, as you can easily check by looking at the other reviews I have done for Google. Nonetheless, I stand by this one for the reasons given. We will not be returning, nor can I recommend...
Read moreThis place had gotten better since the new owner took over, but my latest experience has put this restaurant back on my "do not eat at" list. I decided to get the smothered pork sandwich this time, my wife usually gets it. By time I got home with it every thing about the sandwich was cold, not warm but cold. Went back and the girl behind the counter kept asking how long it had been since I ordered and got the sandwich. I told her that the time I ordered was on the receipt to which she said that the time in the system was incorrect. So I said it only took me 9 min to drive home and then 9 to drive back. Like I said my wife usually gets this sandwich and she said it is never cold like this. The manager would only say that it must be because the coleslaw made it cold so when they remade it they didn't put it together this time. Got out to my car and tried the meat and it was at best warm, not hot. I did not go back in however because of how fed up I was at this point and just warmed the meat up in the microwave when I got home.

Read moreI ordered online for my basketball team that was playing in the area. I made the order at 10 am and because of the time zone change, the software adjusted my time to reflect my time zone. As a result it confirmed my order but changed my times from 7:20 to 6:20, an hour before the needed time. I caught it and called as soon as they opened. I talked to a sweet young lady she tried to walk me through how to change it, with no luck she assured me they would handle it. And hour before the order was due, I received a message saying my order was canceled at half time of our game. Devastated I had a manager to call because we were returning to play. After speaking with someone they were still on top of the order. Low and behold, the Store GM brought us our order to the gym, names on every box, every sauce and order correct, hot and fresh!
