First things first. This is the only restaurant I have been to in town who has Kool-aid on the menu. I had to ask and I was told it isn't your everyday Kool-aid. He insisted I take one on the house so I asked for "red" of course. Red was all I drank as a kid. My mother would ask what flavor packs to get and I always wanted red with the occasional purple. I don't know what they do, but he was right. I will order Kool-aid everytime I go here. Something about it makes it the perfect drink with southern style cooking. As for the food, I haven't had a good shrimp boil since I was on vacation in Atlanta years back. Good southern style cooking is very difficult to find up North. This shrimp boil was NO JOKE! I got the shrimp boil with cajun, garlic and bang bang (spicy) added to the butter sauce. Absolutely delicious. The redskin potatoes were cooked perfectly, the small corn on the cobs were tender, the sausage and shrimp were also cooked to perfection. This was the best meal I have had in quite some time. The butter sauce was unbelievably good. I was dipping my wife's fries in it as well. Perfect amount of spice, garlic, onion and heat. My wife ordered a po boy which I tried as well and it was excellent. Great blueberry bbq sauce tops off fresh fish and southern slaw. Best fish po boy i have tried in a while. I hope this place doesn't change a thing with what they are doing. Fabulous food, excellent service and cool atmosphere. A must try for any southern style food lover. Especially living in Erie where good southern is hard to find. We will be...

Customer service is great. Here’s the reason for my 3 stars. A year ago we visited this establishment, our order was not what we ordered. It’s ok, mistakes happen. A year later (today) we order again. We asked for 2 pork chop dinners, received 2 chicken dinners. It’s ok (again) mistakes happen. We take a picture of the receipt & the order, because once we got to our hotel, they were closed. Left back out (once we were comfortable and cozy) and purchased more food from another establishment. Went back the next day (as gas prices aren’t high enough) let the same young lady know she messed our order up a year later. Just trying to support their business (again) we decided to give them one more chance, as we had the time to check our order (which we should have the first 2 times, our fault) order was correct. The catfish sandwich was more like a catfish nugget (one small nugget) sandwich, 2 small pot chops for the deep fried pork chop meal. Mac was good, cabbage was good, greens needed so much help to be good. Kool-Aid was good. We ended up ordering door dash from another restaurant (again). Not saying you shouldn’t try it, make sure you check your order (as you should) and do not look for nice portions. After 3 times, I will not be coming back. I truly hope they care enough to get...

Terrible. It’s the only word to describe it. First thing, they weren’t taking call in orders, only walk in take out orders. So I went to establishment and was greeted by the staff quickly and that’s the last thing the happened quickly.

As the pictures I posted shows, I ordered the boil with shrimp and crab. I only received the crab legs. The entire boil was over cooked. I got cajun seasoned butter when I ordered garlic butter.

When I placed my order, I was told about 20 to 25 minutes. I was there for almost an hour. Never once did anyone let me know that it was going to be extra time for my order.

I have worked in food service in my life. I understand things can go wrong. A little bit of communication would have helped this experience a little bit.

It was obvious I got someone else’s order and I am pretty sure I wasn’t the only one. I attempted to call the establishment to inform them that we were unhappy and got the wrong order but the phone never got answered and the voicemail was filled.

If I could give 0 stars, i would.

I want to support local businesses and I will continue to, but this place is not one of them.

Do yourself a favor and...

September 2021: I was hungry and looking for something different (non-chain restaurant) to eat in Erie. I wanted Pineapple Eddie's, but they were closed until 4pm on Saturdays. Chippers seemed like a viable option. I ordered the bubble tea, the honey lemon pepper salmon, Mac n cheese, and collard greens. I had never tasted fried salmon, but it was surprisingly good. They put batter on it and deep fry it, later drizzling it with a honey, lemon pepper sauce. Not bad. The meat was juicy and tender so no complaints. Pros: * The waitress was very polite and patient with me. I had a ton of questions and she answered them. * The location is cool. Downtown Erie on State St. Parking was free on the weekend. * Food was flavorful. * Clean restaurant. * The decor was cool. I liked the ode to famous black entertainers on the walls. Cons: * The greens had too many stems in it for me. They were good, but I was used to the greens that my older relatives used to cook with minimal stems and mostly leaves. * I should've asked for more sauce to go onto the salmon. I think that I small container of sauce to dip into would've "set it off" even more.
