The last time I was in Erie PA this place was not built so it was a nice addition to this trip.
It's in a great location and there was a band playing which drew me in.
I was starving and had to get something to eat. I was really wanting some fish and chips considering that I was on the water it seemed like a fitting meal.
I got the $15 pulled pork sandwich and chips...which was HUGE and I literally could NOT pick it up, cos everything was falling OFF the bun. And I needed a fork and knife to cut it/eat. Taste wise, it was ok. But Not THE best, I have ever had.
This place is huge it has several fire pits and tons and tons of tables with excellent views. But I was definitely disappointed to find out that the only food they had, came from ONE food truck. It really seemed with the size of this place they should have had their own kitchen! Or at the very least a variety of food trucks!! I went on a Tuesday, so maybe things are different on the weekends?!
I wish there were servers (there seemed to be plenty of busboys!) ... cos I had a dog, and was by myself, so it made it very hard for me, to manage food,...
Read moreIt was our first time at Oliver's Beer Garden. The atmosphere was perfect. It's a great place to gather on a nice night. The drinks, a little pricey for Erie, were good but nothing really special. The food was below average. I had the lobster roll. The menu states, "Lobster Seafood Roll : A Generous Portion of Lobster with Shrimp & Seafood on a Hoagie Bun". The bun was perfect, fresh and soft. The mix it in was basically tasteless. There was one shrimp, a bunch of imitation crab, and trying to find the lobster was like playing a game of Where's Waldo. I am not a fan of imitation crab or imitation anything. This was all mixed in a tasteless mayo type sauce and put over a few tiny diced tomatoes and few shreds of lettuce. Very...
Read moreDenied my friend who is visiting for a birthday because his “ID doesn’t look real” although it is state issued and even has the real ID star. Bouncer attempted to keep the ID as well which is illegal. When asking for the reasoning the bouncer stated “they have the right to deny any ID” and said we can call the police to verify it. Not bothering the police who have well better things to do in erie about that. Stuck around for a moment outside to figure out where to go next and watched 3 other people have the same issue with the bouncer. Our party of 7 (who are all years above age) left after. $10 for a beer isn’t worth it if they don’t want business. Get an experienced bouncer if you don’t want to lose out on...
