For Fathers Day my daughter took me to the High Street Brewery & Café. I was less then impressed. We arrived around 1:00PM and told to take a seat. Our server greeted us within an okay amount of time. But things got worse from there. The drinks took a good 15 minutes to arrive, which is when we placed our food order. Cajun tots for starters, and varios sandwiches.
During the 45 minute wait we had to move due to the smell comming from the bathrooms. When the meal arrived my Jalapano sandwich and my wifes tuna melt were slightly above room tempurature as was my daughters burger. The waiter was asked for some katsup for the fries on three occations before arriving five minutes later. By the way we were the ONLY people inside the dining area. There was others outside. Then finally after we were close to finished with our meals THE TOTS FOR APPATISERS came out! They must have been rushed out due to the fact the puddle of oil covering the bottom of the basket was a puddle.
So a great location, lousy service and palatable food (which might be much better if served with a minutia of care).
I do not think I will be gracing this...
Read moreLate evening dinner with my classmate in training course was Terrible! It took about 20 minutes to be seated at a table - the wait was unreasonably COLD and uncomfortable, and there were hardly any other parties in the place! Once seated in another COLD room it took another 20+ minutes to have our order taken, which is unacceptable, and our dinner order actually took almost an hour to be served! The service was Horrible as well. This is the 4th time I've eaten at a McMenamins over the past few years and every time has been a Terrible experience! I can't believe this place or the management is so popular. Uncaring, arrogant, and insensitive throughout the entire time we were there and they can't even make it a little more comfortable by heating the place! The food was ok, but but not nearly as good as I/we would expect from a place like McMenamins! And - the price of a meal that wasn't Great made it even more unacceptable and uncomfortable. I will NOT eat at McMenamins again! EVER! This review doesn't deserve a star, but the system doesn't allow the review unless you fill at least 1 star! That's...
Read moreI stopped into the High Street McMenamins after coming back from hiking the McKenzie River and just as always their food hit the spot! They were also able to accommodate my friends gluten allergies with a gluten free bun for her hamburger.
I had the Dark Star Burger which was packed with a good bit of flavor and just enough spice to make you keep wanting to eat more. The burger was juicy and cooked as it should of, with appropriate toppings. I ate the Dark Star Burger with their Cajun tater tots, which were good, but I would have liked to see more effort thrown in from McMenamins as it seems like the tots were just thrown in with some Cajun spice. I'm not knocking or discrediting the flavor of the tots, as they were very good! I was just expecting more. I'm not quite sure what exactly, but I'm not the chief.
All in all, I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, service, and a nice beer with my meal. If I'm in the area again, I will...
