I spent time at this store coincidentally prior to its union vote for representation and was told then by an employee they had an organizing drive going. Today I made a point of walking predawn to get here and met Matt and asked how many of original employees who participated in union organizing drive are here and was told most if not all. Matt says has had very little turnover since he got stir over a year ago. Matt listened to me very generously and I was happy to honestly share my views pro and con about trade unionism generally. I was very concerned that the team who voted here may have been broken up or fired or reassigned but this seems to not be the case. The store is intact and looking good. Its team members partners seemed ok generally. I felt I owed it to this store to visit and say hi and express support and gratitude. I have also told the company recently to bargain in good faith. I watch with hopeful anticipation to see what the results end up being long term with the Workers and The Company. I feel Proud of the baristas for organizing and am concerned about good faith bargaining by Company.
I made a point of going out of my way unpaid walking in the rain to come check personally on this exact store. I helped build this brand and the evolving labor issues are of great concern and curiosity to me. It has been like a rite of passage for me to return here and I feel better to have stopped and checked in on an unpaid basis.
I do not take money for my efforts in these regards. Sone things ARE more important to me than money and labor rights is one of those Things.
To the Baristas “Union is not a four letter word and please watch Senator Bernie Sanders GRILLING Howard S. On United States Senate Floor. It’s PRICELESS AS ARE ALL YOU BARISTAS!” To the Company “Bargain in good faith or it is likely I will ask countless other local Unions to join in and begin picketing the stores” I also my wish to say to Company “Thank you for listening to my voice and for the waters and safe space and consistent professionalism and ESPECIALLY for the .50$ refill price modification. Your Corporation is at the forefront in this world in corporate responsibility and I honestly feel gratitude and debt owed as Your policies have helped my activism And fostered my very survival for many years. I feel torn between management and labor and strangely very proud of both here.
Tusentakk means 1000 thanks to Starbucks and its baristas as there simply are not enough responsible corporations or safe places in the world. I feel relief and safety and relaxed every time I walk through the doors at any Starbucks and that atmosphere is only possible with both company and labor cooperation. Now you two parties work work it out equitably at bargaining table please. Thank you Todd William Moore AKA “.50$ refill guy”
My voice carries well and I feel I have been listened to By both Managment and Labor on this issue.
I have only an informal Voice and no vote on this issue. I feel greatly relieved to have made my way here Once again. Thank you Matt. Family first...
Read moreYou know this is getting tiring. Half the time this location is on strike and when they are working they’re taking as much time as they possibly can(at least the weekend crew when I come) there has been the same barista who has been rude and inconsiderate to me every single encounter with them. And today I got a drink simply with whipped cream, by the time I waited for it to cook and drink it I thought it felt light. And it was. Is this really how much room you leave for whipped cream? Take some pride in your work and you’ll see a return in your income. Not by striking. I haven’t wanted to leave a review because I know they will be even worse toward me now. No shade on the crew during the week I’ve just had a number of issues with the weekend crew. I’d just think you would fill a grande like a grande not a tall even tho I’m paying 70 extra cents for soy milk and you can’t even fill the drink! SMH super annoying, I’m out...
Read moreI am such a loyal customer to this specific Starbucks. I am always frequently going to this location and always have had a great experience. Although, yesterday was a different story I had to come back to get my drinks remade and the girl working the window was very unprofessional and had an attitude. I asked her a very valid question regarding to give her my cups back to show I wasn’t trying to scam them. She told me “no just throw it away” which I was totally fine with doing however, I didn’t appreciate how she turned around talking to her colleagues and started making fun of my question mocking me and I heard the entire thing. That was ver unprofessional I don’t go to Starbucks for an attitude, I go there for my coffee and a great service. I don’t think people like that should work in...
