Every time I go in there in my job with DoorDash, the music is turned up too high and the bass as well . The walls were shaking because of the volume level.
On top of this, they have a stupid system of picking up orders that no other restaurant does at all. They make your order, set it on the counter to sit getting cold. With an invoice/receipt with the order and the pick up driver like myself is supposed to just go in and look at the invoice and take the order. We drivers are required are supposed to confirm the orders before accepting it. The employees won’t help us with that and just tell us to look at the invoice. What’s written on paper doesn’t mean that is what is in the bag. And yes I could look at the food myself, but hat would mean opening the packaging and contaminating the food and I won’t do that.
Speaking of contamination, the cashier was handling cash and plastic for payments, touching the register and the phone, then going to work with the food and cooking utensils and equipment without washing his hands.
I confronted him about all of this and the fact that he is very rude by not even acknowledging the people who walk in. I was ignored for a good ten minutes before he even said anything. His excuse is that they a busy. That doesn’t stop him from saying “We’ll be right with you.” Or something similar.
On top of this negative review I have informed DoorDash about the lack of service and they don’t like it either and will be investigating this. Hopefully they are removed from DoorDash if they don’t improve.
Update: I was in there again for DoorDash March 4, 2019. The same guy who was there last time was there today. Today alone, he touched the register, credit/debit cards, cash, the phone, and his face... All before going back to working with the food... Yes, without washing his hands after all that. Sweet Basil's policy (at this location anyway) requires pick up orders to be signed for. But they don't confirm the papers were signed for as they leave the food on the counter (sitting for who knows how long) and without verifying the recipient of the food first (anyone could come in and grab it without problem). I refused to sign the paper for my customer's order as I won't have my name on anything where the staff do not follow proper food handling procedures and could end up getting my customer sick. This place needs to be shut down for...
Read moreIf I could I would give them negative one stars I would. The women I've seen always cooking the food has always made a delicious dish! But everyone working the register has been nothing but RUDE!!! I always leave a large tip and the staff still avoids eye contact, speaks down to me, and never responds when I say thank you and have a great day. Today I called in an order to go, arrived 15 minutes later when they said it would be done, I knocked on the door as it was locked and the man working the counter gestured that they were closed and then turned his head as I tried to tell him I had a to go order. I then entered once someone left out the back door, the man went around the corner to yell at me they weren't accepting more orders then went back around the corner. I got to the counter and explained I had called in an order. He gave me a nasty look and tone asking what I ordered, then demandingly told me the total without looking at me while aggressively pounding at the computer. He never once apologized for his behavior. I asked if my food was ready before I paided, he said "in ten minutes is will be", I told him I didn't have ten minutes as I had a train to catch (hint the calling it in) and he responded saying "well then too bad, get out" The food is not bad, but defiantly not worth how unbeilivably awful and unkind the staff is. I will never go back!...
Read moreVery rude person working the front. I stood there for several minutes and he never acknowledged me. He then walked away. I asked the cooks if anyone would take my order. Then the guy came back, told me to wait and proceeded to do tasks that could be taken care of later (putting lids on drinks for mobile orders, tidying up his station). No idea why he deliberately ignored me for several minutes. Took his photo to warn people about this guy. I wished him a nice day then he started trash talking to me to his colleagues as I left. Idk why any of this happened. Lol was literally just waiting to order lunch. There was also music blasting in the restaurant so loud that no one could hear me. I had to shout to get the cooks to hear me when this man walked away. It was like I was in a nightclub with a sassy person working the front that is rude to patrons for no known reason. what an odd experience. I went to Izakaya Jinsei next door and they took my order right away, allowed me a space to sit and wait for it and offered me water. I would recommend hitting up other restaurants in the area just to avoid...
