Ive been eating here since i was 10 and i am currently 17 There alot of ups but a few downs. Location is key and i feel like it misses the mark. Anywhere else on campus would be better than the current one. With the amount of college kids and regular costumers flowing in the building id imagine youd want it to be bigger than ur average eugene apartment Parking is the same story. The waiting time is inconsistent, sometimes it takes a Max of 5 mins sometimes itll take 20mins which is rather odd because at the time it there was me and one other couple. Last thing the pricing i understand there might be logical reasons for the price increase but from around $6.75 to $8.00 in a span of a year is asking a little too much when the calzone is rather small. especially if ur buying cookies,a drink or more food it can get pricy. The variety is solid i feel like when i try something new i know itll be good. If you Want a new place to try, when you have the munchies or if youre a fan of calzone like food definitely worth a shot keep up the...
Read moreCheaply priced, but the food was basically flavorless. Just low effort munchies only fit for their 3am delivery and the transient population in the area.
Edit : calling it munchies was too good for it, since I'm a massive stoner.
To be more specific :
The dough tasted like crust on white bread, no traditional yeast flavor or sourdough here. It was overcooked and tough. Obviously they are achieving a Maillard reaction, just taking it too far.
Th cheese was the star but was noticeably missing. I got 2 bites where I noticed some. More Mozz and seasoned Ricotta on all calzones would be a great start.
The meats all had too similar of texture - steamed! As well as being generally under seasoned - how can sausage, pepperoni, and ham together not have any salt flavor? I want to taste nitrate in the sausage and spice in my Pepperoni. The meats need to be browned first there needs to be vents in the calzones...
Sauce was OK, not tangy or robust though...
Read moreI love that they deliver so late (freaking cookies and milk delivered to your doorstep at 2am??) and that their food is so inexpensive, plus I can only give the person who took my order and delivered my calzone great reviews.
But... the "roni" calzone I got was really disappointing. They use ricotta in the pepperoni calzone and I just couldn't do it. It makes the cheese grainy and not melty. Plus the pepperoni has no flavor. It's little chunks, not slices, they're too small and get lost in all the cheese. They are not spicy, at all. They're just salty.
The dough itself is super delicious and I ended up just tearing it off and dipping it in the sauce which was fine. Don't know if you can order it with just moz. but if you can that's what I'll be doing next time. With a different variety calzone. I want to give them a shot because their idea...
