Crispy corndogs stuffed with stretchy mozzarella/sausage and rolled in sugar. If that sentence isn't enough to get you to try this place, read on further.

Cluckin Dog is a new food spot here in Eugene that brings the delicious taste of Korean junk food to town. I visited during the soft open in December 2023 so they didn't have any sandwiches, but I got to try the Korean corndogs and Korean fried chicken. Both were amazing. The corndogs are stuffed with mozzarella and/or hotdog and perfectly breaded, it was as good as any I tried in Portland or the larger cities of Southern California. There are some interesting options, but I went with the OG Korean corndog. It may sound unusual to be rolled in sugar, but there are some other options on the menu without sugar if that sounds too sweet. The fried chicken is juicy and tender. We ordered it with the garlic sauce which was pretty good. It's a very savory sauce as advertised, and didn't overwhelm the flavor of the chicken. Staff were incredibly nice and welcoming, and were helpful in explaining some menu options. It'll be interesting to see how this place changes as it grows, but as it is now I highly recommend Cluckin Dog for a very high quality (and affordable) taste of classic Korean...

If you're into trying things you think couldn't possibly work and love being amazed when they do, this is a place you should try. I loved it. Don't let the name fool you though, not every "dog" has a dog so being vegetarian is no excuse to not try this food. The Angry is like a huge mozzarella stick breaded with ramen and flamin' hot Cheetos, covered with mayo and Sriracha (I took mine on the side). I'm not kidding when I say I ate this in less than 3 minutes and it was no small weenie. Completely meatless and complete bliss. Surprisingly not too spicy at all. Highly recommend. The other one I tried was called the OG. It is definitely original so the name is no lie. It looks like a regular corn dog at first but this dog is so not a regular dog. It's a panko breaded sugary tangy deliciousness. Original? Uh yeah! It's half mozzarella cheese, half hot dog inside. After it's breaded and fried it gets rolled in SUGAR! Then top it off with ketchup and mustard to experience, dare I say, umami? Or something close to it but whatever it is works and it works very well. Both kinds I tried were as big as any hand dipped corn dog out there. You really should check out their menu but keep an open mind because you'll miss some seriously fun food...

We love interesting and unique food so this sounded so different we had to try it. Found easy parking around the corner. Simple menu with great sounding dishes. Person at counter was really helpful once he heard it was our first time. We took his suggestion and ordered an OG dog for each of us. Only took about 8 minutes. Presentation of the food was wonderful. Artistry. So an OG dog is a half hot dog half mozzarella cheese coated with panko and spices fried and then rolled in sugar. The outside was totally delicious. Almost like a pastry. The hot dog was a quality beef dog and tasted good. There was a ton of cheese inside as well. The only part we didnt like was that the cheese was not next to the hot dog all the way through. It was top half all cheese and bottom half all hot dog. It would have been better to have bites of each all the way through. The condiment topping were perfectly paired. We are glad we tried their signature item but next time we will order their Korean crispy chicken. Again, kudos the the man at the...

Tried this place for the first time today since I was in the mood to grab some Korean fried chicken. We grabbed the large chicken, which comes with 15 wings. We chose 3 sauces: sweet spicy, garlic breath, and ginger bbq. All of them were very good. The chicken came out piping hot and crispy. The sweet spicy sauce wasn't very spicy, but it tasted great. You can definitely taste the gochujang in the sauce. The ginger bbq was probably my least favorite of the three sauces. It was a bit too tangy for me, but still tasty. My wife and I both LOVED the garlic breath. This had great flavor and balance, and it also was light enough that it allowed the wings to retain all of their crispness throughout our meal, which wasn't the case with the others (they were still great 😃). Overall, we really enjoyed them. We'll be back to have them again, and probably to try the corndogs, which we didn't sample today. Definitely worth a drive down to campus.
