Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - spicy beef noodle soup (D4) and spicy hotpot noodle soup (D9). The food was good overall but the chili oil does cover the taste of the broth a bit. We were slight confused by the raw SPAM like protein in the hotpot soup as it didn’t quite fit the rest of the dish.
Ambience: 4/5 - spacious shop with large windows that lets you people watch as you enjoy your meal. The store does feel older or the decorations isn’t kept up well.
Service: 2/5 - only one lady managing the front of the store but she disappears to the back quite often. When we walked into the shop we weren’t quite sure if we were supposed to order at the front or sit at a table so we awkwardly stood and waited for about 2/3 minutes before she came back to the front. After we sat, she gave us a little pad and told us to write down what we wanted then walked away. There’s a sign that says they’re trying to save paper so pay at the cash register. We stood for about 3/4 before she came back up to address us. As I went through the payment process, I tried to input my phone number to get a receipt and she cancelled or rushed the prompt which doesn’t allow me to finish the process. I then asked for a physical receipt and she became a bit flustered trying to state they don’t print receipts. She did end up providing a copy!
Value for price: 4/5 - decent food, reasonable price, but didn’t quite care for...

Menu: but it was clear and to the point, helpful to read the main ingredients listed description of each entree item.
Food: Had good flavors and was tasty, use fresh crisp handcut produce in dishes we had. Not fast foody taste...more like home cooked, Authentic.
Prices:Average cost? figure spending $25 per big eaters, per person or for 4 small eaters and can share.
Tableware: Each guest gets small 8in. plate, 1 paper napkin, 1 disposible chopsticks. Table setting/ Food needs to be eaten quick, if you are sharing entrees... or it cools off too quickly (unless you are good with chopsticks) . Heated plates that arrive same time entrees arrive, would be very helpful. The cold plates at table makes food cool more quickly. Get free un-iced water in heavy beer mugs.(request straws or may want to ask for plastic take-out glasses if you have problems with picking up heavy glass mug.

Read moreSichuanese food is probably my favorite cuisine. My longtime boss is even from Chengdu. I put off eating here for over a year because I was so worried about being disappointed. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about.
The space is simple and clean. When I ate there on a weeknight, the relaxing music and nature scenes on the TV almost made me fall asleep after eating.
The one woman working front of house was friendly and checked on us often.
The food met my high expectations. The vegetarian mapo tofu was silky and spicy and (thankfully) didn't have anything added to replace the meat. The jelly noodles were coated in savory, spicy chili crisp and looked hand-cut. I'd never had fried eggplant with green beans, but the beautiful, bright purple eggplant and somehow still crisp beans were a great non-spicy complement to the rest. The steamed rice was a tiny bit dry, but who cares?
I spent about $45, including tip, for a large dinner for two and enough leftovers for several more meals.
Great vegan and vegetarian options, including a marked...
