I tried one of the combo plates. The portions were generous. The sweet and sour pork was so yummy. I wanted more. The fried shrimp in the combo was nice and crunchy and large in size.
However I do NOT recommend the pork fried rice at all. It was dry and bland as well as looking and tasting reheated.
They do have some dimsum items available to offer, I tried two. One, the pork bun was fluffy and yummy.
However the soup dumplings while tasting ok was obviously bought from a store. It literally looked and tasted like the same thing I had recently boy from an Asian grocery store.
Service wise there were three people on staff, but I only actually saw one of them working the entire hour I was there. He was friendly and efficient. The other two people say at a table in the back speaking to each other and ignoring customers.
The atmosphere was clean and utilitarian with a few poster on the walls .
You have to go to the register, are given a plastic menu and have to order your food there and it's brought to you at the table. The dim sum is primarily posted on the wall to the left of the register.
Also, you have to get your own silverware and water, they don't...
Read moreOne of my Chinese favorite food around but the problem is that sometimes meats are old like the last time the filling on the wontons (I ordered wonton's soup) was very old I could not eat it. Had the experience with their BBQ pork too. That happens with bao bao house as well. Great restaurant and great cooks, I just wish they don't push their meat that way to make it last longer.. anyways, just like other comments mentioned, feel very authentic, flavors are on point. I tried their house pan fried noodles (yummy crunchy noodles that the cook putted on top of their gravy so they kept crunchy which I appreciate. First time trying that dish as it supposed to be and it was very fun to eat. Really enjoyed it) their roasted pork with tofu (very good), house fried rice (good in flavor, a little too greasy making a considering amount of oil to sit in the bottom of the dish. Tried twice, same situation), egg rolls (one of the best around) and their wonton soup had bok choy in it, light clear broth. I could tell the flavor was again on point but the meat...
Read more"Gonna get a big dish of Beef Chow Mein.". The time was getting close to four. The cook/owner let me order Beef Chow Mein Lunch Special. He didn't give me the fried Rice with it. I do not care! This place has a good selection of Mainland Cantonese food, as well as its American Cousins. I am here to eat Beef Chow Mein from every Eugene and Springfield Chinese Restaurant. Silly, I know. Thank you, Warren Zevon. My next time in I will order the Cantonese Steamed Chicken. Abrupt, on the edge of caustic service. I love it. The folks are nice. This Chow Mein is unique to this establishment. Skinny, skinny noodles. Well cooked vegetables. Tender is as tender does beef. I enjoyed this...
