This was my first visit to The Cooler, which was recommended to me for lunch as an easy "walk to" by Lithia Nissan of Eugene while my Pathfinder was in for service. On entering The Cooler, we were barely greeted by the female server who was closest to the front door, who briefly told us to choose a table. We chose a table in the elevated dining area, not the bar. We ordered three entrees, a lovely cobb salad (5 stars), a hamburger with fries that arrived with a tasty dipping sauce (5 stars), and nachos with chicken (2.5 stars), which arrived with real cheese on them but the entire dish was almost as hard as a rock. Although not burned, it was microwaved too long; thus, it was extremely difficult to break the hardened nachos off the plate and each other. All the servings were generous. Daniel T. was our server, and he was friendly, welcoming, attentive, efficient, and fun (10 stars), well deserving of the 20% tip I left. Am adding a photo that shows a bit of the darkish, bar-style atmosphere. If I owned this venue, I'd have the decor thoroughly cleaned, as it generally looks a bit tired and dusty. Had I been able to eat more than just a tiny portion of my nachos entree, I would have awarded 5 stars instead of only 4 stars.

Not bad. Saturday night and nobody here. Had some cheese sticks, flavorless and out of a bag. Beer didn't pack much of a punch. Music wasn't too loud so folks could talk. Just wish there would have been people here. I've been back a couple times. Never a live band, rarely anyone around. Have to drop it a star since it's only good for lonely drinks who want to stay that way. The place has so much potential. Sad.

My husband ordered the Cooler Burger. I had the Chicken Basket. Both were very good! The burger is one of the better ones iv2 had here in Eugene. They're served with curly fries. I had an iced tea and he had the Boneyard. Both were good. I highly recommend visiting The Cooler if you're in town!

I went to the cooler for the first time recently for the Ohio State vs Oregon game. I had a horrible experience. Everything was great at first. We ordered food and got multiple drinks and were sitting out on the back patio enjoying ourselves. Then some random obviously intoxicated man approached our table asking if we had his jacket. We informed him we hadn’t seen a jacket and didn’t know what he was talking about. He than became aggressive and got in my face and I told him to leave us alone. A few minutes later a staff member came out onto the back patio and threw a trash bag over the back gate, which was literally directly behind where we were sitting. The drunk man then got a female security guard named Cynthia to go out around the the back of the building where the trash bag was lying and told Cynthia we had his jacket. This part was very confusing. We inform the security guard that the man was harassing us and we had no idea where his jacket was. I used profanity directed at the man and told him to leave us alone. 5 minutes later Cynthia stormed into the back patio and demanded that we leave. As we were leaving, the man was standing there mocking us, as they had no problem allowing this obviously drunk man who had been harassing us in front of the entire patio to stay in the bar. Cynthia is emotionally unstable and incapable of doing her job. I will never come back to this...

I went to The Cooler with my wife for the Oregon vs Oregon State game and yes it was packed. I was playing video lottery and went to cash my tickets when the bartender took my cash out slips for $400 and then continued to help other people. They then looked at me and said what do you need, I said my money for my tickets and they responded with what money. I then took pictures of the people behind the bar to turn them in. They snatched my phone, threw it in the trash and then decided to kick me out. I then filed a police report and had to go back in the morning to collect my money. They under paid me and the manager did not call me back like I was told. No one checked the cameras or checked the lottery machine for proof prior to paying me. The staff is very unprofessional including the manager. I asked for the owners information to run the cameras and take the proper action however they refused to give me his information, or give him mine. So now I’m left with being shorted and no action has been taken. If the owner sees this, please contact me immediately. Something needs to happen! I’m sure they do this a lot hoping people are to intoxicated and split the tickets amongst each other for additional tips. Was told the managers super close with the guy in the first pic which is why no action has been taken. This happened at...
