Went in to buy a gift card. Spent $30. The server had a very difficult time figuring out the process. And kept apologizing. The process took at-least 20 mins. I had to ask for a receipt of proof of purchase for I wasn’t offered one. I felt a bit uneasy walking out with just a gift card and only my credit card receipt (could have been ran as a charge with no proof of gift card purchase anywhere on it) and I made this fact known when I was told if there is any issues to just show the credit card receipt. I was honest and said I don’t hand out my credit card recipes ever, these are for my record only. I wanted a gift receipt. When I did get a receipt after having to strongly suggest I get one because I wanted to make sure since my experience so far made me uneasy, that if my friend whom I bought the gift card for their birthday had any issues she could easily refer to the owner or manager. I was told the owner and manager are the same. I asked for a name to write down on my receipt just in case for my friend and was told her name is Jennifer by the cashier / server and then when I proceeded to ask for her last name I was told no one knew the manager’s last name or owners last name(apparently the same person) And when I insisted they ask and find out I was told “I don’t really know how to find out and I have a lot of tables right now so…” (exact words in a disrespectful and rude tone) all as she walked further away around a corner… I left awkwardly feeling like I was dismissed and they were done with me. I wasn’t satisfied by this customer experience. I wonder if this is common? What a terrible customer service experience that was. Made me feel terrible. The server cashier was unfriendly and I didn’t feel appreciated. No one smiled and all kept a very cold demeanor. I really hope they figure out how to treat customers better for I will never be back to eat here and although my friend swears by it this was enough for me to see that the issue trickles down from bad management / ownership. If I could give zeros on my review I would have. Be...
Read moreI wish I could give you a rating of their food; however, I'm unable to even give you a rating of their tap water, as a friend and I went to enjoy a lunch together after distancing due to covid for over a year.
We were greeted quickly and kindly when we entered. When asked if we wanted to sit inside or out, we figured we might as well enjoy the sunshine and asked to be seated outside. We were left with two menus. There was a table next to us of people who seem to have finished their meal and were in the process of winding down, as well as one or two occupied tables inside. Not terribly busy, as it was around 2:30pm on a Tuesday.
My friend and I sat there at talked, catching up. And catching up. And catching up. While sitting in the direct sunlight towards the hottest part of the day in late July. We sat there. For thirty minutes. And not a single person came out with water for our table (the table next to us had a pitcher). No order taken. Just half an hour of my day wasted because we were seated and forgotten about.
They seemed surprised that we existed when I handed them the menus back and informed them that we were leaving.
No one likes a Karen or a Karen review. I get that. I've worked in similar roles and positions and have been on the receiving side of unfounded frustration and anger. But this is honestly ridiculous. Thankfully, we didn't order, pay, or have a tab open at the bar so I wouldn't have had to fight to get my money returned. Ended up going to the Beer Garden for a pokebowl. I hope no one else has an experience like this, as I would've been appalled...
Read moreUgh. I have been wanting to try this place since they took over the spot of my all-time favorite Sushi place, Mio Sushi. Wife and I had childcare, so our time was limited. We called in our order (4 sushi rolls, 3 orders of Sashimi plus some specific items like avocado and daikon radish on the side, plus we had a 20% coupon we were bringing in). 40 minutes later we show up and the host had NO record of our order. I checked my phone log and read them the phone number I called and they said that was it. The tall twenty-something server appeared and the host asked if he’d taken an order like ours. He said no. Then he said he didn’t remember taking an order like that (which was clearly unique). Then he said maybe he did but forgot to hit Next on the screen. At this point my wife recognized his voice from the phone.
The host apologized and asked if we still wanted to put in our order. We agreed and went for a walk for 25 minutes while they prepared our food. The host apologized again and gave us an additional 10% discount. While paying, the server who took our order appeared and never said a word to us.
I still tipped them because it’s not the fault of the restaurant or chefs that this one person made a mistake. But then… I ate the saddest sushi I’ve had in a long time. 2 of them tasted virtually identical to each other and very bland, 1 was okay, and the 4th was good. I would rate all 4 rolls a 2/5 average but my wife’s sashimi was some of the best she’s had - which is why the overall rating, including service...
