Seriously, stop reading. Pour is terrible. The staff is SO friendly they’ll remember your name and brighten your whole day and invite you to their theatrical releases. The rotating local artwork is SO good you’ll actually want to linger and appreciate it. The vibes are SO perfect you’ll never want to leave your cozy corner spot. The coffee? Absolutely amazing. Don’t try it. The atmosphere? Chef’s kiss levels of welcoming and cool. The way they support local artists? Makes every sip feel like you’re part of a community. It’s honestly the worst because now it’s my daily ritual and I REALLY don’t need you all discovering my coffee spot and making it impossible to find a seat. So please, for the love of caffeine, go somewhere else. This place is definitely not worth checking out. You won’t like it. (But if you do accidentally wander in, tell them Dan sent you.) ☕ 1/10 would not recommend because I want it all to myself. 😆

A perfect environment for student entrepreneurs or just to have a coffee with a very friendly team, I visit many coffee shops around Chicago, and I can assure you that the coffee is of high quality. A negative point that is now in the past is the arrangement of the food, there was often no food on the display, and I kept dreaming of something delicious to go with the coffee, and I had no choice. After two visits, the food problem was already in the past. Normally I visit the place 3 times before posting my experience with the place, but I can guarantee that the place is ready for all types of public.

Some feedback after 5+ visits. A note—my friends/ kids and I love the new place, the fact that there is now a coffee shop on Dempster again. We like the ambience; our comments are re food offerings and training. Offerings: A wider variety of items to eat, and more baked goods other than from Hewn, would be a welcome. Ability to warm up/ heat baked goods. My blueberry scone was cold and hard, a 30-45 sec warmup would have made the difference. Same with my friend’s chocolate croissant, hard on inside. Offering & staff training: Please Offer coffee on the menu after 3 pm — or else train baristas to efficiently make proper Americano in its stead. Went for an afternoon pick-me-up with daughter after school; was informed Pour stops brewing coffee at 3. Ok….I was offered an alternative, an Americano. Alright, I can do that. That’s when the fun started. 3-4 employees/ baristas had something to do in this process of making the Americano, with a lot standing around and talking—and 15 min later, a lukewarm Americano resulted. Also, not appealing that 4 people handled my coffee cup, including the cashier, before it got to me. My daughter was almost done with her tea and croissant by time I got my drink. I tried to drink it, but unsatisfyingly cold. Asked to heat it up/ couldn’t, no ability to heat/ barista offered a remake/ OK, but hopefully faster. Remake done fast, wonderful! But, Barista put in 2 shots of espresso, but then filled the entire remainder of the large cup up with hot water — it was hot, yeh! However, completely diluted by the excessive amount of hot water…sigh. Last item. Logistics: Busing the dishes. So, we had a lot of dishes — coffee cups, a tea setup with wood tray, snack plates, and water glasses. Took 3 trips to bus to the dirty dish station by the window. The two Bins were quite full and we were concerned about breaking dishes, esp as one bin is...

Took the staff awhile to notice that I was even at the register because they were chatting amongst themselves so much.

First off the sandwich I got which was with others that were only $9 but this one is apparently $14 and for the amount of ingredients inside it’s ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE. Should be more like $6-7

Secondly the drink I got that was also $14 was all ice. I finished the liquid in seconds. It was $1 worth of drink changed at $14

Glad I didn’t leave a tip because if this is the quality the staff are very much underserving. Hope at least with how much they charge they at least pay the staff a real pay rate.

The atmosphere is cold and unwelcoming with the solid black walls and gold gilding. There is a sushi market right next door and I got a massive pile of goods for only $13 so I wish I had just gone there in the first place.

0/10 would not come again unless someone else was buying because I would have to be missing a brain to think it would be a good idea to waste money here again.

They claim they are Tapas style but they must have only heard the word and not understood what it actually means. If you want good tapas that will be the best value Tapas Barcelona is gonna get you way better. Their alcohol is dangerously generous and the food is...

Please don’t ask for a tip if you’re not going to bring my coffee out to the patio and I have to struggle to get it out and spill in the process. You don’t get tipped for coffee without service. That’s the job you were hired to do.

Second thing quality of the milk based drinks varies greatly depending on the barista. The tall blond guy with a beard is amazing where everyone else is average.

Third, stop telling people your iced coffee taste like cold brew. It’s not true and it’s not great to lie since a lot of people with sensitive stomachs drink cold brew for a reason. To me it’s very noticeable that it was brewed with hot water since the bitter notes from the heated water are very apparent and taste closer to an iced americano than cold brew.

Overall some very basic things would make this nice however the baristas are very hit or miss, no help brining drinks to the patio with that door that swings close, and I have to put my own dishes in the dish thing on top of being lied to about the iced coffee.

The only reason I’d come back is that the coffee is sometimes good and that besides Reprise, and The Coffee Lab it’s one of the only independent coffee shops and it’s the only one that’s more European than not in terms...
